- Nuri (tn/fr) Nuri is a Tunisian-born producer and percussionist who now resides in France. Since the release of his debut solo album «DRUP» in 2017, Nuri has captured the attention of both the general public and the music industry with his distinctive approach to electronic music. His sound, influenced by Afro-futurism and enriched with live percussion, sets him apart. When performing on stage, Nuri adopts a masked persona, akin to a shaman leading a ritual, guiding music enthusiasts on a sensory journey through diverse cultural imagery. With an artistic presence reminiscent of a mystical sage, Nuri transcends North African traditions through a sound that harmonizes authenticity and innovation. Yahya Chouchen, a member of the esteemed Banga family, embodies the essence of this tradition through his interpretation of the traditional Banga performance. He emerges from a lineage deeply rooted in the Banga, offering Danish audiences a unique window into a society where rituals intertwine with dance, music, song, and trance, bestowing a cleansing and soothing effect upon those present. Within the Banga and its community, a shield against the harsh realities of racism, ridicule, and humiliation prevalent in Tunisian society emerges.
