Humidex Records celebrates its 5th year anniversary with 2Lanes (Detroit), Pascale Project, Eƨƨe Ran and Amselysen & Racine on June 7 at SAT.
A full night of live music and DJ sets in a dark and minimalistic ambiance with classic elements of rave culture such as heavy sub bass, haze, lasers and strobing light.
Expect groovy, warm Techno with hints of oldskool, tribal and hardgroove, interspersed with punchy, innovative sonic elements.
2Lanes
Through releases on Ceramic Records, his own AUTO SHOP imprint, the modern classic “Baby's Born to Fish” on Portage Garage Sounds, and his involvement in the Detroit-based party “Formula” 2lanes’s work is beloved by listeners & dancers world wild - never confined to any one sound or style, insthead interconnected through layers of spirited kineticism, surrealist world building, and a delightfully rebellious spirit pulsating through it’s core.
2Lanes is imbued with the revolutionary tenacity present in every element of Detroit’s musical universe - through collaboration with like minded artists worldwide, building on his family’s musical history in the city, throwing Midwest-centric events to inspire cooperation & connectivity, he’s become part of a fresh generation of North American artists expanding on the mechanized innovations of midwest electronic music, always helping share forms of respect, understanding, & knowledge to propel the present & future ever forward.
Pascale Project
Pascale Project is a singer/producer/dj from montreal. Active in the local music scene for over a decade, she quickly made a name for herself thanks to her energetic sets and performances in her own country but also in new york clty, Berlin, london and many more places. She's had the chance to perform and bring her unique energy at festivals such as Mutek, piknic electronik, igloofest, the 24 hours of vinyl as well as some clubs like Public Records, Stereo, Datcha, Sans Soleil and standard time.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, Pascale's sets transcend conventional boundaries, embodying a fusion of genres and sounds that defy categorization. Her releases on labels like Craigie Knowes, Planet Euphorique, Radiant records, La Rama and Orange Milk carry Pascale Project’s music and vocals beyond her local borders. In 2019, she founded the “Your Approval Isn't Needed” record label as a means to showcase her friend’s music, as the label name implies, without having to wait for anyone’s approval. Pascale is also known to be one of the co-founders of Shift Radio; a livestream community radio operating out of Montreal.
Eƨƨe Ran
Eƨƨe Ran is an uprising techno producer and DJ from Montreal and owner of Humidex Records. He started outputting techno into the form of hardware live set with his duo Musique Nouvelle (alongside S.Chioini, co-founder of Humidex Records). From 2017 until 2019 they flooded the underground Montreal rave scene and made themselves a reputation that led them to play on many Mutek’s festivals internationally, from Montreal to Mexico and Buenos Aires.
In 2020 Eƨƨe Ran released his first EP on vinyl under his previous alias Absurde. Since then he has produced two surprisingly creative textured Techno EP: Derelict Memories and Constant Decay on Humide Records. At the beginning of 2023, he completed a DJ tour in Tokyo playing in one of the most important clubs of Shibuya : ENTER. In Montreal he played at Piknic Electronik, Exposé Noir, North of Nowhere, Datcha and Système, to name a few.
Amselysen & Racine
Amselysen & Racine’s modus operandi: build up a hair-raising tension to its limits before it snaps into an ambush of club ready bangers, delivering a profound cathartic release.
With influences stemming from idm, techno, deconstructed club, and an occasional acid touch, the duo effortlessly blends genres to create new possibilities in the realm of club music.
With their breakout performance at MUTEK 2023, alongside Kyoka, Nadia Struiwigh, and more, A&R have established themselves as strong challengers in the future of dancefloors.
About Humidex Records
Humidex Records was founded in 2019 by Eƨƨe Ran, Softcoresoft and S. Chioini. The launch went down a storm with a packed party and the Humidex 001 mini compilation featuring the three founders, which was received with excitement and enthusiasm by the local scene.
The label is now run by Eƨƨe Ran and promotes creative techno and experimental electronic music. Humidex aims to build connections between artists from Montreal and beyond.
The label leverages its catalog of physical and digital publications through unique signature events, from intimate Montreal club nights to immersive parties at the SAT to underground ambient concerts to a live electronic music show in an industrial garage where the crowd is illuminated by the fares of suspended cars.
