Not much is known about this mysterious, 6ft tall being, other than an ability to blend and create a potent, intoxicating brew of big room sounds, hard 4-4 beats and jacking, twitching electro that sends high-voltage charges through his subjects. Without any implications toward his personality and character, it is unclear who or what the Green Giant is or where he has come from ? other than that he resides in an abandoned hospital somewhere in Ghent, formulating and creating potent musical concoctions. Dr. Lektroluv has released no less than ten mix-compilations since 2002, showcasing his crazy, sonic experiments deep from his lab in Ghent, where people have reportedly recalled seeing him walk around giddily in dishelved focus, heavily infected with a case of the Lektro virus. His second compilation (the first of seven studio-mixed chapters), ?The Preskriptions of Dr Lektroluv? set a benchmark for modern electro compilations, while the upfront track-listing managed to neatly showcase the burgeoning modern electro and jacking house scenes, featuring tracks from the likes of Drexiya to Memory Boy, Hong Kong Counterfeit and beyond. Over the last few years, as the worlds of electro and house collided further, many modern pioneers from Switch to Herve have been inspired by the green man?s twisted, demented presents to the world. After releasing more compilations on 541 records (including 2003?s ?Infekted by Dr Lektroluv? and follow up ?Elektrik Planet?), he released the first compilation on his own Lektroluv records imprint, with the last three releases showcasing groundbreaking and legendary live sets at festival powerhouses Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Outdoor Extrema. Lektroluv has also created a huge club-night monster as a vehicle to champion his twisted beats and deranged bars. The Dr?s sound has fast infected the minds of clubbers everywhere, with a unique stamp that selects the cream of the crop from today?s electro scene, galvanised with hard to find classics ? the Dr always maintains a distinct dance floor-friendly flow when frequently spotted in places as far reaching as Paris, Barcelona, Milan and beyond. It wasn?t until the release of his second compilation in 2003 that the mutant Dr came alive and revealed himself for the first time during the notorious Body to Body party at the Culture Club in Ghent. The unique being was a roaring success - so much so that the Dr. became a resident at the Body to Body parties where he played alongside and summoned guests such as Tiga, Ellen Allien, Tiefschwarz, Ladytron, Digitalism, Who Made Who, Vitalic and Alexander Robotnick to name a handful. The Dr?s filthy, tough and bumping cutlets have earned him regular bookings and Lektroluv showcases globally, including Malta, Greece, Italy and Holland where he is often spotted in his technicians coat, blasting out his latest hybridised monster, shrouded in secrecy and unaffected by the human world around him... At the present time, the Green Giant has gained more notoriety, busily working to maintain the Lektroluv movement, working upon an army of new and twisted talent, ranging from The Subs, Sound Of Stereo and Williams among others. Recently, he?s even let other mortal beings mix Lektroluv compilations including Mason and The Crookers. Top this with the continuing success of his sought after Lektroluv parties at various European hotspots (including an upcoming Brazilian tour), Dr Lektroluv is ready to unleash some more of his own dark magic as the world delves deeper into his shadow-wallowing, deck-pummelling genius. Dr Lektroluv hasn?t produced a single record or album, but his earth-moving appearances have long been proved to stamp onto the minds of those who witness him ? the subsequent result is an emergency call to the Dr in search of a dose of musical medicine almost every weekend, time and time again. You can hear the people calling desperately for this unique love ? Dr Lektroluv to be precise. www.myspace.com/drlektroluv www.drlektroluv.be Tai Biog Where do you head musically, once you have worked with acts as diverse as gangster rappers and nu disco bands in your home country of Germany? What do you do once you?ve produced them a string of top 10 hits and multi gold status albums? You turn your skills to the upfront club sounds of ghetto-electro and ace the dance charts with a string of jaw-droppingly original cuts. Well you would if you are TAI (aka award winning producer Tai Jason), and he?s currently on fire. After a childhood spent living around the world, from the UK to Thailand, as a teenager, TAI found his heart lay deep inside an MPC drum machine, and spent years collecting his legendary hip-hop beats and programming those effortless grooves. Once they had started to circulate the global hip-hop scene, TAI was in demand and upped the stakes by taking on production for hip-hop artists on heavy-weight labels like Aggro Berlin. He has turned his production expertise to the club-floor, juggling his time between mainstream production jobs and dance cuts, from his stunning studio in Munich. In 2009 his singles TAI released his first single Lyposuct (Boyz Noize) with his mate D.I.M, which has seriously turned heads all over the globe. In 2009 TAI also released a single on Southern Fried with Tonka ?Fit?, a massive rework of Coburn?s We Interrupt This Programme on Tasted ? Great Stuff?s new imprint, a remix of Jean Claude Ades?s Shingaling and the remix of Sharam Jey's single, "Army Of Men". In 2010, he has released the jacking new single on Laidback Lukes label Mixmash named ?Rocking The Set?, which Laidback Luke has been playing for the last half year in all of his sets. Also he has released his single ?Powerchords? on Coco Machete this year. On the remix side in 2010, TAI has made a mix of the electronic breakthrough song of the year 2006, ?Exceeder? by Mason this year, which has been dropped on Geatstuff/Tast?d, a remix of Don Diabolo?s ?Who?s your Daddy? for Sony, a remix of UK rapper Wiley?s new single, ?Electric Boogaloo?, Drop The Lime?s ?Sex Sax?, a Dub-Step carve-up of Tomcraft?s epic Loneliness that is out on Kosmo at the moment, a remix for Riton?s ?Computer Juice? on Turbo Recordings plus Billy Idol?s world hit ?White Wedding?. Recently TAI has been in his studio working with Steve Aoki on ther Song, ?Paradise Poltergeist? for TAI?s upcoming ?Beat Down EP?, which will be released on Dim Mak records August 31st. Also recently TAI has been in his studio working on a smashing electronic/miami bass clash with legendary 2 Live Crew?s founding member, producer and DJ, DJ Mr. Mixx from Miami. And there is no end in sight, so that there will be many more collaborations coming up with artists like Felix da Housecat, Lee Mortimer, Tommie Sunshine, Joachim Gaurrad, SonicC and of course there will be the new collaboration between TAI and D.I.M. who are in the studio working on their EP right now. Up to now TAI?s career working as an electronic music producer seems to be the story of an upcoming rising star. Being one of the most unknown faces on today?s market he?s nevertheless an extremely high demanded remixer with releases on the top labels of the electronic music section, such as Boys Noize, Southern Fried, Turbo, DIM MAK, MIXMASH, Greatstuff and others. Definitly one to watch out for in 2010.
