Commander Tom has been DJing and creating music for the last 17 years. He has played at almost all the large events around the world, including Energy 92-96 , Tribal Gathering, Omni 93, Rave City 3&4, Union Move, Time Tunnel and all the Love Parades. In the last 7 years he has also been playing in countries like Malaysia, South-America, South Africa and Japan as well as club gigs in New York, Sydney, Toronto, Los Angeles. It's a near-miracle how he still finds the time to run 7 labels and about 20 music projects. Not only the label leader of the successful German Noom inprint (with its departments in New York and London) - he is also in charge of Deluxe Germany and UK, Monkey Business, 12 inch Monkeys and Phan-Tom. He also owns the Deluxe Sound Lab studios 1 and 2.
Markus Löffel, alias Mark Spoon, one of the busiest and most striking personalities of the European Dance Music Industry, can look back on an eventful past. He is one of those people everyone has a story about.“ The Spoon” is not just any run of the mill DJ, he is a perfomance artist. A kind of latter day wayfarer who roams the country spreading fear and terror, but also receiving admiration. A man like a faery tale figure” – as described by the ’98 Mayday Booklet.
Jam el Mar and Mark Spoon released their first work as Jam & Spoon in 1992, titled “Tales from a Danceographic Ocean”. The track “Stella” was also on this EP. A short time after this, they succeeded with the remix of the classic track “Age of Love”, one of the hymne of the year 1992 and one of the top-selling remixes in techno history. This was then followed by the double album “Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 & 2002. Its first single, “Right in the Night”, stormed the charts throughout the globe. Jam & Spoon were not only renowned for their own productions, they were also hired by an inoressing number of international pop icons for remixes.In ’94, after they had already tried their hand on works by acts such as Frankie goes to hollywood, Pet Shop Boys, Quincy Jones, Queen, Enigma or Stereo MC´s.
Mark Spoon is also responsible for the dance outfit Storm who wrote & produced the massive ' Time to Burn' , an huge 2001-02 anthem , the track is featured on every half decent dance progressive trance compilation worldwide. From his humble roots with the awesome duo Jam &Spoon who released the classic album 'Tales from a Danceographic Ocean' with tracks like Stella in '92, he has carved out a niche for himself which make him one the most recognized talents in dance music today.
