  • "Remember, remember, the fifth of november" KiNQ & DéTOUR coming to Mainz exclusively for an event of special kind! Support by Felix Berg & Chris Laut from bouq.records! Club KiNQ Now who or what is KiNQ? KiNQ is not only an outstanding electronic dance music project, it is more a kind of concept. A concept which persecutes to bring different people together on a joint dancefloor, to present modern music, to share thoughts, ideas and moments, leaving an unforgettable experience to each and every attendee. Whether they play only for a few close friends in their apartment or a dark basement, or for a few hundred people in some underground club, at secret illegal forest or tunnel parties or even at a self-organized inofficial campingsite rave at this year’s Melt!Festival (DE), the DJs of KiNQ.com never spare no pain to realize extraordinary events of unique character. The names behind KiNQ are Tommy Tunne and Roger Young, two of the most promising DJs from the western Netherlands who gathered to form their own style and sound. Besides playing well selected records from deep & oldschool house to minimal techno, adding a happy and funky twist, they also like to inspire their crowd with live house music performances including electrophilic instrumentalists. A few years back in 2007, Tommy and Roger started podcasting some of their (live)sets and mixes on their homepage KiNQ.com. After almost winning the Bootleg DJ Contest in 2008, they got offered to host resident parties at Bootleg DJ Café in Rotterdam (NL) and in Club Ciccionina in their hometown Delft (NL), which they arrange up to this day. Today, the catchy and cheerful KiNQ style reached a high profile and gathered a lot of friends, fans and followers around them, national as well as international. Never too tired to feed some hungry ears and restless feet with nice tunes, Tommy & Roger are going to play as long as you stay! KiNQ.com. Stay Young, stay Tun(n)ed! B) _ _ _ _ _ DéTOUR DéTOUR is an electronic music project from Rotterdam. Started by only one member back in 2007, over the years several very talented DJs joined the DéTOUR crew bringing their own ideas and style, leading the project to evolve and to become the creative music network it is today. The concept of DéTOUR is to spot talented amateur DJs and to connect them to the whole techno scene, introducing them to some of the bigger names, playing side by side with them, thus giving them a real chance to not only show their skills and to get some experience but also to start networking, exchanging with other musicians or producers, sharing thoughts and ideas, finally inspiring them for experiments and eventually for new projects. Taking the lead of DéTOUR in 2008 after a five month residency, Shawn Rubens became the head organizer and manager of the project. Up until now he is the one hosting the monthly DéTOUR resident party, which became an established event in Rotterdam’s techno scene. Firstly happening at the Bootleg DJ Cafe in october 2007, the DéTOUR resident party occured there monthly until february this year when its location was changed to the well-known Catwalk club. In june 2009 Clarence Brandon joined the DéTOUR crew and became an important part of the whole project. Besides playing at the resident parties he also became an almost constant jury member of the Bootleg DJ Contest, which is mostly hosted by Shawn Rubens, who is in charge for promoting, fixing the schedules and prizes and, most important, selecting promising contestants and an experienced objective jury. By combining their various styles to a common energetic sound, the DéTOUR DJs manage to emit a wide spectrum of musical characteristics and thusly to reach a big target audience. Experience electronic music in all its facets when these guys come and take you on a DéTOUR to techno paradise! _ _ _ _ _ Delectric Delectric is a tech-house/minimal/techno DJ from Dordrecht (NL) who won the Bootleg DJ Contest in 2007. Besides playing next to Shawn Rubens and Clarence Brandon for DéTOUR since march 2010, you can usually find him behind the decks with his friends Tommy Tunne and Roger Young from KiNQ. Playing both for DéTOUR and KiNQ, Delectric created his own style combining the oldschool funky house tunes from Tommy and Roger with the deep and energetic tech-house beats Shawn and Clarence are known for. Whether he’s playing in the warm up-, main- or afterhours, Delectric has a good feeling for choosing the right tracks to play according to the daytime, location and atmosphere. Better check the thickness of your shoe soles before going to a party he’s playing at, because when this party maniac is spinning his records for you, you might go home barefeet! _ _ _ _ _ Felix Berg & Chris Laut Felix Berg & Chris Laut are a DJ duo from Mainz (DE) and despite their young ages have already managed to find their individual sound, a broad range from deep dubby house to driving, grooving techno. Their sets are textbook examples in build up and technical expertise without forgetting to pick up the vibe of the evening, location and audience, which they easily infatuate with their open and easy-going attitude. Another way to secure their individual touch in their sets lies within their studio works, where this dynamic duo records atmospheric sounds which manage to subtly bind certain passages of the set seamlessly together. Through Chris' involvement and co-ownership of the label bouq.records with his friends Amir, Butch and Sebastian Lutz, Felix & Chris have already played at largely renowned locations such as the Cocoonclub, the legendary U60311, both in Frankfurt a.M., as well as Goethe Bunker in Essen, New Basement in Wiesbaden and 50Grad in their hometown Mainz. The experiences of the last years took their toll and Felix & Chris started to reduce their involvement within the dance music scene early 2010. Focussing on music production, Felix started studying sound-design and Chris went full on into music-making, firstly concentrating on dusty-sounding hiphop beats, improvising jazz on his trumpet and after a time-out in South Africa, came back to start a dance-floor friendly experimental electronic project with various befriended collaborateurs. These two have done their best to forget how to think in boxes. Throw out all your boxed up expectations and enjoy this unique mix of styles, ideas and organic grooves.
