Bpitch Control Night & Lessizmore 3d Experience

  • Room1 Chaim Born into a family of traditional musicians and the son of a father who was already spinning records in the late sixties, Chaim grew up to become a complex producer. Influenced by Moroccan music he heard at home while growing up, and the sound of Chicago House he fell in love with while working as a light jockey in his local clubs, his productions tell a story of a sensitive musician from Tel Aviv. Chaim lives a lifestyle intense with bitter sweet moments, resulting from the extreme diversities his homeland offers. His tracks often climax with massive stabs, showing Chaim’s unquestionable talent for the unexpected. He plants hooky and hypnotic melodies in the front, while scratching the soul with 80s inspired synth licks flickering from speaker to speaker, effects, and memorable vocals that are wrapped inside a wall of sound. Collaborating with his partner in crime Guy Gerber on Supplement Facts releases and as a team, they produce epic tracks with uplifting, head-twisting melodies. While often producing big sound tunes like “Genesis” appearing on Cocoon’s compilation G, Chaim is also drawn to the more minimal side of electronic music one can hear in his Traum Schallplatten release “Carolin”. These days he splits his time between studio work in the country side of Israel -working on his live show and album – and playing gigs in and outside of Israel. Enjoying a wide range of support from the likes of Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Tiga, Digweed, Claude Von Stroke and Sasha to name but a few, Chaim is without doubt in the front with today’s innovative up and coming young producers. As of 2008, Chaim is an exclusive BPitch Control artist, where he will release his debut album. Kiki Kiki is surely a producer for whom no introduction is required. His style encapsulates everything exciting about electronic music. As a DJ he has travelled the world and his skills as a performer inform the music he creates, using the experience of a life of travelling and performing and channelling those experiences into music that has a reflective brilliance, deftly treading the line between the clubspace and the headspace. Kiki was born in Helsinki, but has now found his home in Berlin. Initial forays into making sounds with violins and pianos soon gave way to the mechanical beats of hip-hop, mixed together with more popular sounds whilst playing at school discos before he was even a teenager. With such an early start it was no surprise that before he was old enough to enter a club, Kiki was holding down a weekly residency at one – Helsinki’s Tempo club, which was swiftly followed by another at the Smile club. A move to Berlin in 1994 to study Architecture was the catalyst for Kiki to step in to the realms of a serious DJ. Impressing the legendary Masters At Work at a Marlboro DJ competition led to him securing gigs at Berlin’s three cathedrals of techno -Tresor, Pfefferbank and WMF. Gigs in Berlin and Germany were soon followed by a string of international bookings and the release of an infamous three deck mix for Sonnenhaus which led to de-bug worrying about the health of his fingers. With his profile as a DJ growing it was two short steps to releasing his first record on Ellen Allien’s Bpitch Control label in 2001, who through a happy coincidence he had met when the pair were double booked to play the same DJ slot. Since then Kiki has become an integral part of the Bpitch family growing into a truly international artist, sharing his love of energetic and hypnotic music across the globe from Mexico, to Tokyo and making a little bit history along the way. Kiki has been the only performer ever to pack Ibiza’s Space club to capacity on a Monday. With an output that has been nothing short of prolific, Kiki has released a number of genre defining records both as himself and later with partner in crime Silversurfer. Kiki was the first artist asked to put together a mix for the now legendary Boogy Bytes series, and has been asked to provide remixes and productions for labels as diverse as Bugged out, Playhouse and Crosstown Rebels where he had the honour of being the first artist released on the label. His debut album Run With Me was an international success, and led to the video for Shake Off (a collaboration with Silversurfer and Captain Comatose) being playlisted by MTV. More recently a collaboration with Sasse and his Moodmusic imprint led to the release of the excellent Grand Cru – a modern club classic already. However, as he has grown and matured, a yearning to explore deeper and more personal forms of expression in music, has led to Kiki working on his follow up to his debut album – Run with me. Without forgetting his roots in the club, Kiki has reigned back the short sharp thrill of 12” releases to concentrate on his second album. And so the next chapter begins. Kiki is set to release Kaiku (which means echo in Finnish) in the spring of 2009. Like a musical calling card it combines all of the elements that can be only be learned through a life dedicated to music and musical expression. Where the space between house and techno and electronic music becomes blurred to the point of irrelevance and the feeling and emotions created by the music give you all the labels you will ever need. As the song on Kaiku says – No Words Necessary. Deg Room 2 : Stimming (Live) Martin Stimming was born in Giessen, Germany.Playing various instruments like violin, piano and drums when he was 10 years, discovering electronic music 5 years after. DJ Krush and Grooverider provided his introduction into this new electronic sound dimension. About a year later he came upon techno. At this time he was living in Butzbach, a small town near Frankfurt – influenced very much from Chris Liebing and Sven Vaeth, starting to djing and buying vinyl. He soon realized that for him making music was more fullfilling than ‘just’ playing a groove, or mixing a record, so he started to take his production seriously and moved to Hamburg to attend SAE (School of Audio Engineering). Music had become the most important thing in his life. For 2 years, he was the producer part of the Gebrueder Ton, and in this time he befriended Diynamic (a record label from Solomun and Adriano). Stimming’s debut on Diynamic was Diynamic 006 Feuervogel EP, which he produces together with Solomun. The Diynamic 008 was his first solo artist vinyl. William Kouam Djoko(live) Born William Kouam Djoko he was raised by a Cameroonian father and Dutch-Ukrainian mother. Already at the age of 3 heavily in love with sounds, music and entertaining people. Letting his body react to it, he quickly started dancing, with Michael Jackson as his big idol. From this early fascination in rhythm and dancing he tried at a more serious approach and let dancing become a fulltime passion when he was 17 years old. Starting out with the simplicity and fun of salsa dancing, later evolving into a more serious discipline practicing ballet. Due to a knee injury he had to give up dancing. Around 2003 William got acquainted with Jason Shae, Newton da Costa and Pete Bandit via a mutual friend who were organizing techno parties in and around The Hague. They were in need of a host for their evenings; a job perfectly suited for William. Tending to be a bit more creative with words and filling breaks with quick blurbs and interacting with the crowd. Seeing this vocal thing worked out very well for both his DJ friends and himself in 2004 the four gave a go at bringing a new live act to the scene: Jason and the Argonauts. One of the first minimal house live acts in the Dutch nu-skool, they’re nowadays playing a full-on party vibe through-out Holland and abroad. Always going for a high-level of energy and interaction with every audience. Next to enabling himself as the vocalist of the group, he also gives his own input to the music which is being played out. Starting to produce music around the end of 2005 his sound was always characterized by full grooves and freaked bits. Always aiming for full body motion, very much leaning towards house. After a couple of V/A’s and rmx’s with both Jason and the Argonauts as well as under his own name, the year 2008 marked the beginning of his solo career with a full 12” release on ThirtyOneTwenty. “Hard Loving” brought some attention to this Amsterdam based producer with a lot of positive feedback from well respected names. Aiming for an innovative sound this was marking the beginning of more good things to come. With a wide scope on the world, interaction and music William is constantly developing his own sound, always looking out for new people and inspiration. Expect an energetic DJ/Live-set, drenched in house, that will keep you wondering and dancing till the very end! If there is one… Ernesto Ferreyra Born in Argentina, Ernesto Ferreyra travels the world in pursuit of musical enlightenment. From Mexico, to Montreal, to Berlin, the newest member of team Cadenza proves rhythm knows no borders. The die was cast early when Ernesto began to collect records by Depeche Mode, Jean Michael Jarre y Pink Floyd, which led him to discover house music, at the time, a little known sub-culture in Argentina. At age 13 the precocious music fanatic landed a job as a radio DJ in his hometown of Córdoba, at 14 he was spinning at under-18 discos, by 16 he was a full-fledged club DJ. He made a pass at conventional career planning but found his time at university revolved around weekends in the clubs. “I saw my path was marked,” he says, “It was music.” Determined to carve his own path, Ernesto moved to the maelstrom of Mexico City, where he lived for three years, DJing all over Mexico and taking the first steps in his production career. Next, he moved to Montreal, drawn by the vibrant creative culture of Montreal, Canada’s electronic music hotbed. There his production career moved into high gear, driven by friendships with MUTEK artists and – in particular – Guillaume Coutu Dumont, who he records and performs with under the Chic Miniature moniker. It wasn’t just the creative talent that spurred Ernesto. “The cold helps too,” he jokes. “You wind up buried in your studio working all the time.” There is more to Ernesto’s music than just putting in the hours, though. He defines his sound as a mix of Latin groove and taut Northern minimalism. His records reflect a boundless curiosity about life, emotion and sensation. “I love jazz, soul, funk, Cuban rhythms, rivers, mountains… crazy movies like Tim Burton, history books – everything is an inspiration!” Ernesto’s crisp, seductive cuts appear on labels including MUTEK, Cadenza, Musique Risquée, Cyosure and Crosstown Rebels. His gigs at the world’s best clubs include Berlin’s Watergate and Panoramabar, Tokyo’s Yellow, Spazio 900 in Rome and – in summer 2010 – Pacha, Ibiza. Forthcoming releases include remixes for Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly imprint, ‘For Beaner’ on Thema Records and Ernesto’s debut artist album is on the making. 3D Experience By Swayways
