Continuing our special relationship with Move D, we're very happy to announce the return of our hero, and friend for this months party. David Moufang needs little introduction to electronic music fans, he is a true pioneer.
A designer of utterly unique and involving soundscapes informed by roots in rave-era ambient music, Move D can best be described as taking the intelligence and deep textures of Chicago house/Detroit techno axis. His tracks build slowly, taking time to reveal their full breadth, but the many fans already on board with Moufang’s style know that Move D is all about the journey and little to do with a final destination.
Getting his start in the early 90’s as half of the under-rated chillout-room ambient duo Deep Space Network, Moufang began recording for his own Source Records label as Move D in the mid-90s. But the word didn’t really begin to get out on Moufang’s talents until the 2006 reissue of his 1995 album “Kunstoff”, which was instantly hailed as a pioneering classic of techno/house scene. A consummate collaborator, Move D returned in 2008 with Benjamin Brunn for the equally classic Songs from the “Beehive”, which considered by many to be one of the best electronic-music albums of that year.
More recently David has released classic ep's on labels such as Modern Love, Uzuri, Philpot and Workshop. His work alongside Jonah Sharp as Reaganz brought us the excellent 'Playtime' album.
