  • New Years Eve is all about doing something different and keeping in that tradition we have a very special event lined up for you from two of Leeds' finest underground party starters... It’s been a storming 2010 for SHHH_IFT and Louche. Louche have gone from strength to strength, boosting Leeds’ best underground monthly with the launch of successful bank holiday parties as well as a new London & Middlesbrough residency. Meanwhile SHHH_IFT have continued to breath a new form of life into Leeds’ underground scene, secretly evolving nightlife with clandestine shindigs in venues as diverse as cage fighting gyms and skate parks – through to a Grade I listed warehouse space… which is where these two underground alchemists will join forces over 2 rooms to bring in what will be another successful year of cutting edge parties. As 2010 becomes 2011, join Leeds’ finest for what will be this New Years Eve’s most unique party in Leeds hidden gem of a warehouse space that is Temple Works. We've also invited along a very special guest for the evening...Anyone bothering to handicap the year-end polls of dance music that mattered in 2010 will likely need to slot in Parisian DJ Jef K's remix of The Gathering's "In My System" somewhere near the top. The track has stormed deeper dance floors this year, its infectious bassline a standby in discerning jocks' crates the world over. Jef K is a DJ first, though, honing his craft since the early '90s after a lengthy visit to the UK opened up his ears to the sound of US garage. K took "the vibes," as he puts it, to Paris and, in turn, became one of the city's most respected spinners, earning himself a residency at Rex Club in 1998. He brought Dixon to town for the Innervisions' head first gig outside of Germany, orchestrated Herbert's first live show in Paris and also held residencies at Frankfurt's Robert Johnson and Brussels' Fuse as well. All this in addition to running Silver Network and co-helming the beloved Crack & Speed imprint. Needless to say, the man's house bona fides are unquestioned. _______________________ Room 1 – The Transition Space Louche and SHHH_IFT join forces to create an evolving musical experience – as 2010 becomes 2011 we transition through our two unique sounds – a journey from house to techno – taking you deep into the new year. Room 2 – Introducing the Sub Zero Disco A new room within the vast Temple Works, yet to be exploited during SHHH_IFT’s epic parties within this unique building – expect ice cold party music from disco to funk to house & beyond! _______________________ The Venue: This amazing venue which is a grade 1 listed building is where we take our party for NYE. Seeing is believing with this one... a former flax mill in Leeds, built between 1836 and 1840. Temple Works, was based on the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Egypt with a chimney designed in the style of an obelisk. An unusual feature of the Temple Works building is that sheep used to graze on the grass-covered roof : ) PICTURES: Check out some snaps of this amazing venue... http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3634/templeworkstemplate.jpg WALKING / DIRECTIONS A full map and walking directions from Leeds Train Station to Temple Works can be found by following this link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&t=h&msa=0msid%3D107977627915885578463.000479362a8798853ff8e&ll=53.793275%2C-1.550059&spn=0.007111%2C0.016544&z=16
