Ninja Tune's hard man King Cannibal - aka Dylan Richards - has created 'The Way of the Ninja' - a 74 minute mix of 250 tracks blended, sliced, diced, torn-up and finally rendered to audio, released 8th November 2010.
The label’s recent 20th anniversary ‘XX’ box-set - which features Mr Scruff, Zomby, The Bug, label founders Coldcut and remixes from Diplo, Autechre, Metronomy and Flying Lotus – set a precedent and was lauded with critical acclaim.
‘The Way of the Ninja’ looks set to follow its success. The 8/10 NME-approved long-player continues the birthday celebrations and is crammed with Ninja Tune classics, personal favourites, some slept on and a few exclusive acapellas and instrumentals - not only a Ninja Tune retrospective but the sound of King Cannibal's last two decades.
This is the official UK launch with a hand-picked line-up courtesy of the man himself, featuring King Cannibal, jazz, electronica, hip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass force of nature DJ Food, underground hip-hop figure Buddy Peace, who is fresh from mega mixes for WARP Records and collaborations with ZILLA (aka King Cannibal), and Brixton producer Photomachine.
