Close on the heels of GABOM's launch event last month, the crew is
gearing up for another long evening of musical excess on Saturday
December 12 at Chez Jacki in Mitte. The jewel of our night is Justus
Köhncke, special guest and Kontrast Partner to Dirk Leyers, also
joining in live behind the machines. Ready at the decks are GABOM DJs
Iroko, Steffen Altmeyer and Sebastian Eberhard aka BassDee, sharing a
wealth of sublime house music tracks "for those in the know". So come
out to play, GIRLS AND BOYS, the music awaits you!
Justus Köhncke
Back in the 90s, Justus Köhncke made his mark in the pop world as one
member of the notorious Whirlpool Productions trio. His success
continued to grow behind his own productions and albums for Cologne's
Kompakt label, on which his epic track "2 after 909" reigned over
dancefloors across the world for months on end. Apart from his solo
work, Köhncke is a prolific remix artist and collaborator on projects
with Andreas Dorau and Tocotronic, to name just a few. His unique and
eternal blend of techno, house and disco has found a home at other
labels such as Freak 'n' Chic and Stilove4Music. We are proud to have
him on board for this GABOM event and are looking forward to his
amazing live set at Chez Jacki.
Dirk Leyers
As one half of Closer Musik, Dirk Leyers made waves across the world,
and from these roots he has covered massive ground as a solo artist
with his deep electronic sound. His many successful releases and
remixes for imprints such as Kompakt, Klang, Firm, V-Records, I'm
Single and other labels speak for themselves, as do his inimitable and
engaging live sets.
DJs Iroko, Steffen Altmeyer, BassDee
London-born Iroko, whose house tracks, produced in collaboration with
Jerome Syndenham, were released on the label UK Promotions, heads up
the GABOM DJ crew on this night. Along for the ride is Steffen
Altmeyer, leaning on many long years of musical experience as DJ and
the owner of Frankfurt's now defunct DELIRIUM record shop. BassDee
rounds out the team as resident Berlin club legend, with many endless
nights in clubs such as the WMF, Elektro and Friseur under his belt.
An invincible force of DJ talents ready to deal out the goods at Chez
Jacki as you have never heard it.
