Acid Washed is a two DJ’s keen on using modern and vintage equipment to create sophisticated electronics with a sharp pop aesthetic. The result is a fusion of late nineties French house vibes and DFA disco touches that acknowledges the influence of Chicago and Detroit without being overly reverential. Throw names like Steve Reich, Giorgio Moroder into the hat as well if you like, but don’t dwell on them. Cosmique tunes for the party tonight.
Stopmakingme is well known for his residency at London institution Fabric as well as regular appearances at nights such as Bugged Out and Durrr. Now his star is set to rise further as Erol Alkan has hand picked him to be the resident DJ for his Phantasy Sound label, hosting their radio show and helming their new club night. His love for Trash, Optimo, Soulwax and older references like The Paradise Garage all come through in his DJ sets where electro and techno sit alongside updated post-punk, huge disco, mutant new wave and perfect pop choruses whilst no momentum - or any dancefloor - is lost.
