We're ridiculously excited to announce the launch of Rank & File at The Red Gallery in Shoreditch on February 25th. Our headliner this month is post-dubstep genius and BBC Sound of 2011 finalist, JAMES BLAKE.
Though his first record came out just over a year ago, Blake has already cemented himself as one of the most respected artists in London’s burgeoning music scene. CMYK, his debut release on R&S, boosted his profile in the dubstep scene and garnered huge crossover appeal (see this glowing review on Pitchfork).
Since then things have really blown up for James with the release of 'Limit To Your Love', which was named Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’. Soon after, Blake placed 2nd in the BBC Sound of 2011 establishing him as one of the hottest acts in the UK.
Joining him on the bill are four equally fresh-faced artists. West London born BULLION returns East with music that is wistful, danceable and utterly irresistible. SAMPHA who is known for his collaborations with SBTRKT as well as the incredible ‘Sundanza EP’ (released on Young Turks) will also take to the decks. For you dubstep purists we have a founding member of the famous Dub Pressure collective and Ministry of Sound radio host, KION. Tooting’s finest, ANCESTERY also promises to deliver a solid set of forward thinking dubstep.
We also have a special guest who's heavier Chicago house / Techno and early 90's London rave sound will send the party into overdrive...
