  • On Saturday, March 19th, 2011, Oktave proudly presents a Perc Trax showcase in New York City, including an appearance from label head Perc (Perc Trax | CLR | London) and the North American debut of Milton Bradley (Perc Trax | Do Not Resist the Best | Berlin). Oktave resident Jeff Derringer (Perc Trax | Chicago) rounds out the showcase and will open the night. The show coincides with the release of Derringer’s new EP on Perc Trax, with remixes from Milton Bradley and Dino Sabatini (Prologue | Berlin). Perc Trax is the brainchild of Ali Wells, known more prominently around the world as simply Perc. As Perc, Ali has released a blistering collection of cutting edge techno, as varied in dynamic as it is in texture. With his Perc Trax label, Ali has committed to promoting artists who bring the same intensity and edge to their music - producers like Donor, DVS1, Forward Strategy Group, Sawf, Truss and Samuli Kemppi have all figured prominently into the Perc Trax sound. Perc himself is one of the most sought-after DJs and producers working today, with an event history that literally spans the globe. As a producer, Perc has released music for a long list of excellent labels like CLR, Kompakt, Drumcode, Ovum, Stroboscopic Artefacts and many more. His recent podcast for Resident Advisor captured the ears and imagination of the techno intelligentsia. 2010 saw Berlin-based producer and label runner Milton Bradley make his first release on Perc Trax. Both Bradley’s mixes for Perc’s ‘BCG’ EP were prime examples of what has become an enigmatic sound - deep, dubby rhythms coupled with chugging techno reminiscent of an old school Detroit aesthetic. Bradley’s Prologue and Zooloft releases, as well as the tracks on his own labels (Do Not Resist the Beat and The End of All Existence), have pushed him to the forefront of the techno underground and made him one of the top up-and-coming producers in the genre. The Perc Trax showcase is rounded out by recent label signee and Oktave resident Jeff Derringer. Besides being the creative director of Oktave, Derringer is becoming an American techno producer of note - his first two releases (on Subtrak and Perc Trax respectively) were supported by some of techno’s finest artists, including Silent Servant, Tommy Four Seven, Pfirter, Pär Grindvik, Lucy, Jonas Kopp, Dustin Zahn, Audio Injection, Mike Denhert and dozens more. Derringer’s next release, the ‘Exit Sound’ EP, will come out via Perc Trax on March 11th. It includes Jeff’s original track and remixes by Milton Bradley and Dino Sabatini. There are no advance tickets for the Perc Trax showcase in NYC. For $15 admission, please RSVP to [email protected]. Be sure to include the full names and email addresses of each guest attending. Anyone who does not RSVP will pay $20 at the door. The event will be held at National Underground, 159 East Houston St, NYC, from midnight to 6am. Please bring a valid government issued ID - ages 21 and over only.
