Dark, raw and sweaty environments are where you’re most likely to find Tommy Four Seven, Tommy Four Seven is at the front of the new generation of techno artists, creating his trademark deep and uncompromising sounds. We’re catching him just as he’s about to drop his debut album ‘Primate’ on Chris Leibing’s CLR...Which is an impressive example of the dark, crunchy techno sound Tommy’s become known for...behind the decks as well as behind a mixing desk.
Tommy’s approach to music is unlike a musician. Instead, Tommy prefers to sound design, recording and sculpting elements into deep engaging atmospheres.
It’s this production ethos Tommy also applies in the club, morphing from tech-house, to the darker realms of techno. “I always keep the foundations deep and hypnotic, a vibe I feel that creates more of a connection.” Tommy’s been giving his interpretation of what techno can be since 2005...filling the void between house and techno with his original structures and dark sounds.
In 2008 Tommy launched deep techno imprint, Shooting Elvis. Gathering artists from Mark Broom to Remute, to Sebastian Roya to James Kronier, choosing to release quality rather than quantity, an attitude that has not gone unnoticed with supporters including Ben Klock, Len Faki, Joel Mull and Paco Osuna. Since then tracks like ‘Sor’ ‘Bahaus’ and most recently the monster ‘Armed 3’ have been rocking dancefloors...This is a chance to see Tommy just as he’s dropped a big album...So expect loads of fresh material to creep in on the night...
