  • Following the hugely successful 15th Birthday party with Drumcode last December, atomic jam is back. Renounced as one of the longest running and most respected Techno nights in Europe, pretty much every act in techno has passed through Atomic Jam over the years; Derrick May, Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer & Robert Hood to name but a few. Headlining this time round is without one of the most prestigious acts in Techno. JEFF MILLS will be making a rare UK appearance withsupport from Belfast's finest - PHIL KIERAN, Atomic Jam resident CHRIS FINKE, Colour's resident ED MACKIE and more. JEFF MILLS Probably the biggest, most important & influential name in techno - JEFF MILLS. Detroit native Jeff Mills is one of several members of the Detroit Techno collective who contributed to laying the foundation for that city's legendary electronic sound. A founding member of noted Motor City institution Underground Resistance. His exceptional turntable skills with an unapologetic and experimental approach is unrivalled. With incredible speed, Mills creates moving, emotional visions and unlike many Djs who mix many of their tracks on computers, Mills' capability to provide live, improvised and impressive mixes answers why he is one of the most in-demand DJs in the world. He has performed with an orchestra, created seminal tracks like The Bells that will be engraved in Techno for years to come and his Axis Record label has been an outlet for quality, underground releases for nearly two decades. It's been 4 and a half years since he last visited Birmingham and any UK appearance from Mills is always a very special occasion. PHIL KIERAN First making his name as much-loved resident DJ at the legendary Shine club in his hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland's phil kieran has made the transition from local hero to player on the global stage in grand style. phil's fledgling steps into a production career were quick to earn him the respect of the British dance music establishment, with killer twelve inch releases on Skint,NovaMute and Soma, but more recently he has gained a new European currency by adding the rubberstamp of Sven Väth’s German powerhouse Cocoon to his musical passport with the release of critically-acclaimed debut solo album 'Shh' in 2009 CHRIS FINKE Atomic Jam's resident DJ Chris Finke is well an truly established at the forefront of UK techno. Aside from his hugely popular sets at the Jam, his performances take him around the world, and the next few months sees him touring Japan, Australia, continuing visits to Europe and clubs including Fabric in London. With recent releases like "Shut That Door" and "Moofish" being played and charted by the biggest names in techno, Chris is also currently working on his debut solo album, plus remixes coming up for Mark Broom, Orlando Voorn, Steve Mac and many more. ED MACKIE Colour, Locked & Eat Your Brains resident Ed Mackie, for the last 3 years, has played the closing set on the Residents Terrace in Creamfields and in the last 12 months played at Cocoon, M_Nus & Meganite Tours. Performing alongside the likes of Sven Vath, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Marco Carolla, Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram & DJ Rush to name a few. On a production front Ed has stepped up to the mark with some great releases with support from some of the worlds top Techno DJ’s. Atomic Jam - Serious electronic underground shenanigans.
