Stefano Miele - aka Riva Starr - has smashed out of the blogosphere with his unique patchwork of styles, swiftly establishing himself as one of the most unique and recognisable producer / DJ today. With an impressive catalogue of releases and remixes on key dance labels such as Made 2 Play, Get Physical, Dirtybird, Kindisch and Southern Fried; Riva’s diverse, but always distinctive sound has helped him notch up a fan-base that ranges from Annie Mac to Pete Tong, Tiesto to Riccardo Villalobos, Carl Cox to DJ Sneak, and Groove Armada to Sven Vath. His remixes are as diverse as his own productions, already including The Gossip, Derrick Carter, Usher, Thomas Schumacher, Plan B, Dennis Ferrer, Lionrock and Estelle. But no matter how diverse his productions and remixes, there is always an inimitable thread that is unique to Riva. RETRO/GRADE: Since 2005, Serge Santiago and Tom Neville have been slowly cooking a career-defining album… What came out of the studio sessions was a perfect modern day Italo/Disco sound, straight off the bat… This was the birth of the group Retro/Grade. Their first single 'MODA', released on limited edition vinyl in September 2009, has received support from the likes of Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile Disco, A-Trak, Annie Mac, Kissy Sellout, Pete Tong, Riton, Trevor Jackson, Pedro Winter, DJ Mehdi, Ewan Pearson, Brodinski, Seth Troxler and many more... Next up is 'ZOID', released November, with the album forthcoming in 2010. Inspiration taken from a period between disco and house - the grey zone where synths were first used with disco and when drum machines were used to keep a track in time. Retro/Grade's sound is a modern day Italo Disco… THE MAGICIAN: (Ex Aeroplane) His background is shrouded in mystery, his powers are supernatural and his reputation is whispered about among men. He goes by different names, but folks just call him The Magician. After spending years as the driving force behind nu-disco and edit kings, AEROPLANE, alongside Vito De Luca, Stephen Fassano has now branched out under his own guise. Early remixes have included an outstanding re-work of Lykke Li "I Follow Rivers" as well as an 80s dub of The Aikiu "The Red Kiss". His "Magic Mixtapes" are some the hottest DJ mixes on the net with his soundcloud page drawing in 5000 followers. After touring extensively as Aeroplane, The Magician is now headlining in his own right with a packed out club schedule and all major festivals accounted for in 2011. THE REVENGE / 6th BOROUGH PROJECT: Craig Smith & Graeme Clark have worked together in the studio for almost a decade, producing house jams and exploring long forgotten funk and dusty disco dubs. Studio output has featured on the much sought after L.E.S.S. Productions label aswell as Jisco Music, Instruments Of Rapture, Domino Records and Delusions Of Grandeur, which they provided the first single for in 2009. Craig has been DJing since 1987 when he made his debut at Edinburgh's legendary club night, The Hooch. With influences soaked in boogie, jazz and funk, through hip-hop and house, his sets are testament to 25 years of telling stories through music. Throughout the years, Craig has played alongside many of house music's visionaries, regularly bringing guests like MAW, Kerri Chandler, Spinna, Jazzy Jeff, DJ Deep, Paul Trouble Anderson to the capital. Graeme began producing in his early teenage years, influenced by his parents collection of rock, soul and blues aswell as eighties daytime radio and the burgeoning rave scene. After setting up his first label with close friends in 1999, Graeme got a call from Craig to offer words of support which led to the duo working together shortly after. Now producing for over 15 years, Graeme continues to work on a variety of projects in the studio aswell as touring most weekends. Recent work has included music for DFA, Buzzin' Fly, Z Records, Pokerflat, MCDE and Dessous. With their debut album released on May 13th 2011 on Delusions Of Grandeur and their highly anticipated DJ mixes receiving widespread appreciation, the duo will be doing a small number of special performances together. SPENCER PARKER: (Rekids) Spencer Parker is one of Europe's leading djs, his unique style of house music is in demand the world over and with his productions, remixes and re-edits being supported by names such as Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Nic Fanciulli and Locodice, the future looks bright. Spencer's musical style is simply described best as, underground house music. Now a resident of Berlin, Spencer has guested at all of the cities best clubs including Watergate, Bar 25, Arena, Wilde Renate and Weekend, as well as continuing his highly successful residency for the Rekids label, at the world famous Panorama Bar. Spencer's production career began in 2005 and has since seen him release on respected labels such as Tsuba, Liebe*Detail, Saved, Crosstown Rebels, Nite Grooves, Area Remote, Word and Sound, Buzzin' Fly, King Street, Ovum and Rekids. Having been a big part of the Rekids label since its inception, in 2009 Spencer was also charged with mixing the labels first compilation (entitled "Rekids Revolution") which received rave reviews and was accompanied by an extensive tour and press campaign. Now established as much for his production and remixing skills as his djing, 2011 is already looking to be a good year for Spencer. Forthcoming singles and remixes are due on labels such as Rekids, Word and Sound, Ovum and Saved and his debut artist album will be released in the second quarter of 2011. Having already impressed both clubbers and promoters around the world to date, Spencer's diary for 2011 already includes return bookings at some of the worlds best clubs, such as Rex Club (Paris), Fabric (London), Womb (Tokyo), Barraca (Valencia) and Panorama Bar (Berlin).
