- Toro Y Moi is Chazwick Bundick, a young multiinstrumentalist from South Carolina. The artist is afilliated with the genre of chillwave. Performers of this subcategory of electronic music share a passion for dreamy and atmospheric compositions and a liking of raw lo-fi sounds. Toro's first album "Causers Of This" came out courtesy of Carpark Records in January 2010. The debiut LP gathered wide cricital acclaim. Many journalists still doubted in the newcomer. They acknowledged that Chaz was having his five minutes of fame but also predicting that he would soon be forgotten. The new "Underneath The Pine" album must have brought significant embarrassment to the pessimists. Chaz Bundick not only refused to loose momentum but he brought new and interesting content to his former style. Toro Y Moi, when seeking inspiration, looked 30 years backwards: funk and soul remain his fundamentals on which the 24-year-old consciously built his musical identity. The young composer took these basics another step further with some nostalgic synthpop and shoegaze psychadelia. The result of such a blend was impressive. "Underneath The Pine" is a hypnotic kaleidoscope which will take our breath away. Toro gave evidence not only of his talent as a composer but the ability to create truely unforgettable vibes. If music brings back memories, then Toro Y Moi means sunny days by the summer sea. In opposition to his strongly electronic-focused debiut, this time Bundick pursues melodies for the live instrument. It's worthwhile to hear the results live! The gig in Kraków will be an important event because it will open the Toro Y Moi tour not only in Poland but also the whole of Europe! The long journey will start in Kraków which makes this night so special. You simply can't miss it!
