Source Festival’s musical program is complete. After announcing headliners like Bonobo, Modeselektor and Supermayer last month, the entire line-up is now out in the open. Cutting-edge electronica and crossover live-acts are predominant on both Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of July, offering an array of striking bookings like Stacey Pullen, DVS1, Horse Meat Disco, Optimo and Rainbow Arabia.
Three outdoor stages and a tent adorn the Source Festival premises. Mainstage is the domain of Kompakt stars Supermayer, electronic superband Karocel and Detroit icon Stacey Pullen. Electronic pop prevails on the live stage, with bands like Rainbow Arabia, Ost & Kjex, Horse Meat Disco and Jungle By Night; the latter making international waves with a debute album reminiscent of Afrobeat’s heydays. The techno stage is manned by DVS1, Applescal and Lucy, who has given contemporary techno a futuristic face with his smashing album Wordplay For Working Bees. And temperature rises in the dub/beats area with Pearson Sound, Nosaj Thing and Martyn. Also British dubstep pioneer Kode 9 is set to sweep the floor with one of his magnificent dj-sets.
Cutting-edge electronica afficinados are equally served on Sunday. The mainstage is manned by the likes of Bonobo, Modeselektor and Kerri Chandler. And of course Pitto, who is currently lauded by everyone from Pete Tong to Laurent Garnier for delivering his groundbreaking debute Objects In The Mirror. The outdoor stage is graced by deep house prophet Moodymann, nu-disco pioneer Tensnake, electro don I-f, idm’s supertalent Space Dimension Controller and minimalist master Robert Hood. And the electronica stage is taken over by enfant terrible Melon and disco legend DJ Harvey, who returns to Dutch soil for the first time in ten years – a very special occasion indeed! Moreover, this Hawaiian discohippie is planning to release a new album in the very near future. Expect to hear something extraordinary.
