- Hello there! Hope the early summertime vibes are brightening up your life! We're feeling pretty happy at Plex Towers, and even more so having just put together our next summer party. For this next one you'll be hearing the sounds of Lebanon, Berlin and London, along with a whole room of BRACKOUT. To say we're happy to have the UK EXCLUSIVE LIVE DEBUT of the incredible Morphosis (aka Ra H) is a massive understatement... have a listen to his new album 'What Have We Learned' to understand why. Jaw-dropping stuff; one of the few records of recent times that can be described as showing real emotion whilst also having an undeniable pulse and drive. Rabih has been making tracks for a while now under the monikers Ra.H and collaboratively as Upperground Orchestra and now as Morphosis. He gets props from everyone- from Marcel Dettmann to Traxx to Martyn, and he will be playing a live set on the night exclusively for us. Utterly unmissable! Morphosis is joined on the bill by other artists of international repute, one of whom is Substance aka DJ Pete. We invited Pete to play at our first party at Corsica Studios way back in 2008, and that set had people asking for the recording for months! A resident at Berghain, employee of Hard Wax (perhaps the best techno record shop on the planet), creator of Berlin's seminal Wax Treatment night and one half of Substance & Vainqueur with René Löwe, Pete really is one of the touchstones for modern electronic music. He will be playing an extended set on the night; expect another masterclass! With his most recent DJ sets and releases Delta Funktionen has been leading the way for others to follow. He is an amazing DJ, capable of moving deftly from heads-down throbbing 4/4 to stripped back heavy percussive numbers while still making it all feel totally natural - go check his Fabric Delsin promo mix. His releases are fresh exciting techno and are getting played by some of the biggest DJs out there; check out Another Dimenson for just a taster of what goodness you'll be hearing on the night. Sud Electronic resident and badboy DJ Nick Craddock completes our Room 1 lineup. A long time friend and ally of Plex, Nick is one of the most skilled DJs we know and a proven party smasher; he'll be playing an extended set on the night. Check out his mixes here, including RA mix of the day Transpennine Express. In room 2 it's a BRACKOUT takeover. Our dear friend and resident Ben 'Bracket' Brydon passed away in April 2009, leaving behind a vast treasure trove of amazing unreleased music and a great deal of love and respect in the music scene. Out of this his friends have started a non-profit label and occasional clubnight to honour his appetite for big badass bass and fun times, and we have some of the best DJs out there representing. Almost everyone will be playing sharp concise 30 minute sets, which'll be more a multi-DJ mashup than your typical club vibes. Lining up we have the inimitable Radioactive Man dropping hyperspeed electro mayhem; Rag & Bone's queen of 2-step NoYeahNo digging deep for the heaviness; Dexorcist blazing out the bass and beats and Lusinda showing why she consistently smashes it. We also have Good Looking Records' Furney, an incredible DJ and one of the stalwarts of drum n bass; hardcore warrior and Coin-Op label boss Mustard Gunn dropping bombs; Kirsti airing the freshest tracks from her null+void blog; nodataavailable playing an incredible full live set; Man-Analogue mixing up techno old and new; Strepsil skilfully stitching the tracks together and the Plex residents and Brackout label directors James Tec and Luke Handsfree playing unreleased Bracket tracks, dubstep, techno, electro and breakbeat pressure. All of this on one of the best Funktion One soundsystems in London, housed in the friendliest club in London: the award-winning Corsica Studios. GET THERE EARLY!!
