BAERTUR is a one man band from Bergen, Norway.
In addition to having 280 rainy days a year, plus a town market that smells like fish (in a bad way), Bergen also has a pretty nice music scene. Being a co-founder and current part-time member of Datarock, as well as a sometime collaborator with other artists like Annie and Syntax Terrorkester, Ketil Mosnes has been part of the Bergen scene for a while now.
BAERTUR is basically a mix of musical styles Mosnes voluntarily and involuntarily has been exposed to during the last 30 years. The songs on the debut album BAERTUR 1 are written and recorded in his own flat, as Mosnes always has been a supporter of the DIY-approach to making pop songs. After all he plays in Norway’s only Guided By Voices tribute band (how many Guided By Voices tribute bands are there really?)
The tunes on BAERTUR 1 are primarily instrumental, however Knut Andreas Knutsen from experimental rockers Syntax Terrorkester appears on vocals on the track Human Sponge, and Håkon Eriksen from Oslo’s finest – No States – adds some voice to the track Det Vi Liker. 2011 will see new releases and tour dates.

One of the brains behind the promising label Untz Untz, Tarjei is also a competent producer when he locks himself away in his basement. When DJing, you can expect anything from house to disco from this pleasant fellow!
