Land of Kings is Dalston's homegrown, 2-day music and arts festival. Back for its third year on 28th-29th April, Land of Kings marries together the area’s finest DJs, musicians, artists and collectives for an alternative knees-up to Kate ‘n’ Will’s nuptials. With wristband and map in hand, the festival once again takes revellers on a stomp around Dalston.
Backing up a roster of royally good music will be an ever-expanding arts programme, boasting special commissions and exhibits by some of the area’s finest. Hackney Film Festival curates a night of shorts whilst warehouse-theatre specialists Stoke Newington International Airport present a wedding-themed cabaret, including a Kate Middleton inspired striptease by international burlesque star Agent Lynch.
Peckish? Guests will be able to dine on a regal banquet laid on by a host of carefully selected concessions as well as special discounts in local Turkish restaurants for festival-goers. Or can stop off for brew in London Fields Radio’s pop-up studio/cafe.
The festival wristband will grant access to some of Dalston’s best-loved venues, including the RIO Cinema, Arcola Theatre, Vortex Jazz Club, The Alibi, The Nest and Moustache Bar alongside a host of secret hideaways to be found.
