  • Limetree Festival 2011 & Dance Music Therapy Celebrating 10 Years Of Secretsundaze, 20 Years Of Back To Basics with Robert Owens, Giles Smith, James Priestley, Clive Henry and Many More... The Limetree Festival is a three day arts and music festival that will be one of the most forward thinking, groundbreaking events of 2011. A magical backdrop of rolling hills, ancient woodland and wild flower meadows provide the perfect setting for the range of attractions that will showcase the best in music, art, fashion, film and culture. The festival has been carefully planned by like-minded souls and the organisers’ collective way of thinking aims to see a return to how festivals used to be. The expansive line up of acts spans numerous genres and celebrates an open-minded way of being, seeing a diverse range of up and coming home-grown talent playing alongside some of the best musical and artistic pioneers of all time. This plethora of talents will be showcased on a variety of platforms ranging from traditional band stages through to a state of the art geodesic dome complex and Pyramid Stage, all with high specification sound and lighting systems. A full list of the artists can be seen on various promotional mediums both on-line and in physical form. Live performances by the likes of Carleen Anderson & Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, Transglobal Underground and Submotion Orchestra will be accompanied by DJ sets from Zero 7 and Andy Smith from Portishead in one field whilst in another JoyScouts Asocialnation present the Dance Music Therapy Village. This area will have acts including Robert Owens live, DJ Mark Farina (Mushroom Jazz set), Mr C, 10 Years of secretsundaze with Giles Smith and James Priestley, 20 years of Back to Basics with residents and Dave Beer’s The Blessed live, dBridge and Dj E.A.S.E from Nightmares on Wax, to name just a few. Limetree 2011 has something amazing for everyone including not only music but a vast range of attractions such as a consciousness cinema, relaxation zone, live art exhibitions, talks from guest speakers, music & art workshops and amazing camping facilities featuring a luxury Soul Pad village and PapaKata tents. The Limetree Festival is now in its fourth year of returning you to how festivals used to be and is fast becoming the most diverse, alternative and independent festival in the North of England. The introduction of full disabled access to the site is also sure to be a welcome addition to this year’s festival. A key message of the festival is ‘Leave only Footprints’ and we’re doing more with the infrastructure to help us all achieve this aim. A little pampering doesn’t go a miss either so there are luxury showers to sample. Also new this year is a dedicated Family Camping Field tucked away for your peace and comfort. There is also more space this year for campervans and caravans but please book early to avoid disappointment because these are selling fast.
