  • Brighton based Beatsworkin team up with the Lost My Dog label to bring a fantastic party down at the H Bar and Club, and they are pulling out all the stops as they have one of the finest djs and producers of the last 4-5 years: GIOM headlining. In a very short space of time Giom has become one of the most highly sought after producers, remixers and DJs in the deep house scene. His music is consistently found at the top of download store sales charts and in the sets of DJs from house music’s jetsetting elite to bedroom jocks in every corner of the world. Giom was born in Niort, France and now lives in London. Discovered by DJ Heather through MySpace in 2006, his initial releases were quickly signed to Amenti Music, Aroma and Kolour Recordings, alongside Heather’s own Blackcherry imprint. He has gone on to work with labels including Om Records, Universal and LCG Music, providing both original music and remixes for artists including Fred Everything, Jay-J and LawnChair Generals. He can also be found recording as one half of Bobby and Klein. In 2010 Giom joined forces with UK label Lost My Dog for a partnership that will see him release a string of EPs and remixes, full length projects and headline LMD events. As a DJ, Giom is a regular at Fabric, sharing the bill with the likes of DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, Fred Everything and JT Donaldson. His energetic sets have led to a hectic tour schedule which means most weekends he can be found headlining in clubs from Australia to the United States and back around mainland Europe. Away from house music Giom’s talents as a professional drummer are also highly sought after and have seen him tour and record for Zarif, The Nextmen, Odyssey and Kasabian amongst others. Lost My Dog Label was formed in 2005 by Strakes, Pete Dafeet and Najan Ward. In a very short space of time the label grabbed the attention of the world’s leading DJs, press and most importantly the record buying public with their fresh, unique and professional approach to underground house music. Within their first year iDJ magazine had tipped the label as one of the “100 reasons why dance music still rules”, going further to say that Lost My Dog was one of the “most exciting house labels to emerge from the UK recently”. DJ Magazine followed suit stating “this label has been one of the most inspiring over the year for me so far”. In late 2008 DMC Update described Lost My Dog as “a great UK label, filling a vital gaping hole for the many bemoaning the absence of slightly-twisted house labels like Classic and M.F.F. while joining imprints like 2020 as a bastion of pure, deep house”. Leading producers and DJs as diverse as Groove Armada, Darren Emerson, Mark Farina and Nick holder have constantly shown their support with the likes of Mazi/Audio Soul Project going as far as to say that “Lost My Dog are single handedly restoring my faith in house music”. Refusing to be pigeon-holed into any specific sub genre of house music, Lost My Dog releases range from deep house grooves, through Chicago influenced jackers, to acid and tech house floor rockers. Put succinctly by DJ Mag, ”Lost My Dog release vibrant house music with balls of steel.” Each release is aimed at pushing the label forward into new territory, releasing new sounds but always maintaining a high level of quality control. Part of this success is that all releases have to appeal to Strakes, Pete and Najan; if one of them isn’t feeling it then the record won’t be released. This broad ranging sound is also reflected in the artists that Lost My Dog work with; a roster that encompasses a mixture of established names, rising stars and relative unknowns. Producers who have worked with Lost My Dog include the legendary Jay Tripwire, Milton Jackson, Greenskeepers, Fred Everything, Inland Knights, Julian Sanza (2020 Soundsystem), Jay West, Burnski, Atnarko, Kelvin K, Harold Heath, YSE (Rhythm Plate), Tommy Largo and a whole host of others, not forgetting of course, the label’s own Pete Dafeet. Also playing in the club room will be a debut set from Craig Rogan, After listening to some of his mixes, he does not disappoint, and I am sure he will be a regular at Beatsworkin parties in the future. He will be warming up the room before Beatsworkin regular: James Britton takes over the ones and twos. Beatsworkin themselves will be playing before the main man himself: Giom. - And closing the night will be Lost My Dogs Ryan Bliss who will be spinning back to back with Ryan Styles - under their new alias - A>D>D playing very enjoyable house music right through till the end. The Bar will be hosted by Dance Dance Dance -a fantastic collective of djs who have put on fabulous parties in the South-West of England -and will be playing their Brighton debut. Ministere from DDD is already a well established Brighton DJ - playing alongside Jamie Bawn on the weekly Beatsworkin Radio show on Codesouth.fm every tue from 10pm. He has bought the whole DDD collective to come and spin disco and house tunes in the bar. They will be Joined in the bar by Lost My Dog's Najan Ward, ensuring both floors will be showcasing nothing but quality music all night long.
