In late 1991, a mutual love for the burgeoning electronic dance music scene in Columbus, Ohio brought together 3 musicians: Todd Sines, Titonton Duvante and Charles Noel. Todd spotted Charles at a Revco show in Cleveland; Titonton at an OSU record store as they both grabbed the same 808 State record. Soon, Body Release toured the midwest, playing events for 2 years, opening for Bizarre Inc, recording a demo with Fact 22's James Towning, but no actual output. By 1993, they transformed into ele_mental, an collective which brought multimedia art, video, film, performance and a forward-thinking, eclectic sensibility to events and music; pairing art installations with Detroit techno and Chicago house legends. Charles started the 21/22 label; Titonton signed to Dan Curtin's Metamorphic imprint, and Todd signed to Carl Craig's Planet E, Dan Bell's 7th City, and Peacefrog in the UK. After many tours and releases, Charles Noel + Todd Sines moved to NYC in 2003, and Titonton soon thereafter, to plant roots in this fine city with careers in film, advertising and music, whilst maintaining their creative outlets with new collaborations with other NYC artists.
Like a comet on elliptical orbit around the Milky Way, the trio of B|RE / ele_mental artists Titonton Duvanté, Arch_typ [Charles Noel], and Todd Sines [as .xtrak / enhanced] playing ALL LIVE SETS in this environment happens ever so often.
