Streets Of Beige 1st Birthday Machinedrum Album Launch

  • Having stormed the past 12 months with a monstrous number of parties taking in pubs, warehouses and several of London’s clubbing institutions, Streets Of Beige kick off the birthday celebrations by hosting the Machinedrum album launch for his forthcoming LP on Planet Mu. It’s been 10 years since Travis Stewart, aka Machinedrum, released his first LP on the revered Merck record label, and we’re proud to present the launch party for his new bass-laden, juke-tinged Planet Mu LP ‘Room(s)’. Showcasing a fine range of forward-thinking rhythms and low-end the album weighs up just as good s a long player as a chouice cut of dancefloor smashes, and Machinedrum’s live reputation precedes him with his chop ‘n’ fire MPC skills cutting crowds to fine pieces. Second in line is UK funky’s new golden boy, Ossie. Having cut 2 heavy slabs on the Lightworks and legendary Hyperdub labels, here he’ll be flexing his DJ muscle to up the conga’s and tempo for an all-out party vibe. After ditcher her 8Bitch moniker in faviour of the more serene Nightwave project, Maya’s recent Svetlana Industries EP kicked harder than a raging pony and evoked synth lines even the most doggish of Warp producers would squirm at. Another live set comes in the shape of patten, whose upcoming releases on No Pain In Pop and Werk Discs should see him ascend as the new Prince of noise and 20Hz weirdness. And topping off the lineup is Samoyed, championed by Lukid as a rising star in experimental beats, nd set for a big year with several releases planned on as-of-yet secret labels.
