On Friday 7th October we welcome the Berlin bass brigade Modeselektor, as they touch down at The HMV/Forum in Kentish Town for an exclusive London live performance in the wake of their much awaited third album 'Monkeytown', released 3rd October.
After curating an entire stage at the 2010 and 2011 MELT! Festival in Berlin, and following a tour of Europe and Japan with Radiohead, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szery have created brand spanking new live stage and visual show, that they will showcase at Bang The Box. We've also lined up an exceptionally rare appearance from Monkeytown label mate Siriusmo – his first ever performance in the UK!
With massive drums, minced vocals and a mastery of mounting tension, Modeselektor creates a new animal out of dance music, a mutating chimera with body parts of left-field hip hop, soulful R&B, punk rap and playful surprises. Contributing to the album is an exciting palette of guest vocalists and musicians, including Thom Yorke, Busdriver, PVT, Anti Pop Consortium, Miss Platnum, Sascha Ring (aka Apparat), Pillow Talk, Gordon Boerger, Siriusmo and Otto von Schirach.
