Wow. The last few ICEE parties have been EPIC. If you have been to or heard about the June or July parties, you know that our new home at the Public Works Oddjob Loft suits us just fine. The sound KNOCKS in there and the vibes are sooo right. Has anyone been hiding in the tree house?
August promises to be another amazing party with TWO guests that bounce, a very special LIVE PA, and an EVEN MORE SPECIAL BIRTHDAY.
First up, we have the SF live debut of ADDISON GROOVE. While the Bristol-based artist may have been to SF before under his Headhunter moniker, you have never seen him like this. Addison Groove will be playing LIVE on his Roland 808, the machine that has informed his new juke/ghettoech-influenced sound and given birth to bangers like “Footcrab†(arguably the tune of 2010), “Minutes of Funk,†“Work It,†and “This is Itâ€. Dropping records on SWAMP 81, 3024, TECTONIC, and HESSLE AUDIO, Addison Groove has quickly worked his way toward the top of the UK bass world, and we can’t wait to see him twerk his 808.
Also with us on this ICEE odyssey is Bellingham, Washington youngster CEDAA, who has been making some serious moves lately with labels like BYRSLF, DISCOBELLE, and CAR CRASH SET. He’s also been inked to Kingdom’s new superlabel, FADE TO MIND. Known for his juke-inspired creations, Cedaa isn’t afraid to weird up the dance and we are super excited to be celebrating his 21st BIRTHDAY at Icee Hot. The last time he came to our party, he was too young to get in the door! This time, he’ll be behind the decks.
Also in the building will be resident buddies Shawn Reynaldo, Ghosts on Tape and Rollie Fingers, who will undoubtedly be making the dance nice and vibey.
