On Saturday 22nd October we will celebrate our 12th birthday by welcoming an artist who has been a long-time member of the Warm family, for a very special 8 hour set. This is the first time Dixon has played a set of this length in London, and we will be using a venue we have never used before especially for the occasion, tailoring the sound and production to create a setting befitting an occasion this special.
Co-founder of Berlin's lauded Innervisions label, DJ, producer and go-to remixer, Dixon is a rare talent with a consistently fresh and original approach to all of his endeavors. Entering the Berlin club scene in the early 1990s, he established his name on the strength of his DJing, building his reputation with a mid-week residency in Globus, the upstairs level of the legendary Tresor club, before moving onto spots at equally revered spaces such as E-Werk, WMF and Weekend. By the late 1990s he had branched into remix and production work, lending his unique style to reinterpretations on labels such as Nuphonic, Compost, Sonar Kollektiv, and, of course, Innervisions. He also began to establish his reputation for lovingly crafted DJ mixes, from the Off The Limits series to his most recent outing, ‘Temporary Secretary’, which saw him incorporate the skills developed through touring the A Critical Mass project (alongside Âme and Henrik Schwarz) to outstanding effect. Most recently he has mixed the 8th (and final) installment in the Robert Johnson mix series, a club at which he has been a long-serving resident.
Dixon will be playing from the moment the doors open at 10pm, until the second we turn the lights on at 6am. So Join us for what is sure to be a very special evening, and the perfect way to celebrate 12 years of Warm.
