  • ‎*VENUE ANNOUNCEMENT mUmU BOXING NIGHT* PICTURE BELOW* After being the first to occupy the old Tobacco Warehouse in 2009 we'v always continued to look for venue's with that 'wow' factor. We think we'v found another. The 'Blackie' is a grade 2 listed former congregational church built in 1841.The foundation stone was laid on 7 July 1840 and the chapel became popularly known as 'Liverpool's Third Cathedral'. The last service took place in Feb 1967, and later that year the building was acquired by the Peter Moores Foundation and launched in May 1968 as the home and base for the UK's first community arts project. Plans were drawn up to redevelop the interior of the building while retaining the (Grade II listed) exterior. Work commenced on this redevelopment in 1975, and has continued in Phases to the present day. The main entrance & mezzanine main space holding 500 people will be our home for the night as we install a Funktion one sound rig and state of the art lighting to transform the space for a special one off party. It would be impossible to replicate Berghain and we'd never attempt to, but the sound, lighting, Visuals, Double Mezzanine and totally unique space make a fitting venue to host our Boxing day bash and host the might of the Berlin clubs residents. We hope you can join us. mUmU x Its time for our 4th annual Boxing night party, this fixture having been a sell out for the last 3 years. don't sleep on this - a Berghain Residents Boxing night in Liverpool - the venue will be announced nearer the time, its industrial as standard for mUmU. The night will start with the deep, warm house sounds of mUmU resident Lee Rands & Fuse head Honcho Enzo Siragusa, easing you onto the dance floor. Then the might of Berghain residents Marcel Fengler & Ryan Elliott will be unleashed as they take it up a few notches and work off your xmas excess. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/marcelfengler MARCEL FENGLER (OstGut Ton, DE) One of the Berghain residents you probably should know more about. He has been there since day one. Speak to those who knows and they'll tell you just how good he is. He really knows his craft. Fengler’s DJ sets are characteristically dynamic, driving and full of emotive content, cutting to the chase, he is a beast. Having just mixed 005 in the Berghain compilation series to great reviews and now stepping out globally away from Berlin, following on from his good friend Marcel Dettmann, 2012 will be massive for him. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/ryanelliott RYAN ELLIOTT (Spectral Sounds, USA) “What matters most, above all else, is what comes through the speakers. It must be the right track for the right time, delivered in the right way.” Nobody knows this better than this Detroit native, whose distinction as an internationally respected DJ, remixer, and one-half of Spectral Sound’s A&R team, has grown steadily in recent years. Having relocated to Berlin in 2009 and taken up residence at Berghain he holds the reputation as the “DJ’s DJ”. A distinctively consistent techno sound, they don’t hand a reputation like this out at the club door, and Ryan Elliott’s is well earned and well deserved. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/enzosiragusa ENZO SIRAGUSA (fuse, UK) Its been a fantastic year for ENZO SIRAGUSA. His Fuse party has changed the face of Sunday clubbing in London. Built around a solid team of residents and an uncompromising music policy, Fuse has defied the odds and risen head and shoulders above the raft of London's Identikit partys. Fuse the label also arrived this year - Fuse 001 Sagamore - coming from Enzo himself and receiving massive support from the wider DJ community. Enzo also made his debut at DC10 earlier in the summer and now plays regularly around the world whilst still finding time to manage the label & encourage all his residents along the production path. We welcome a very old friend back to mUmU to tease us with his brand of deep house. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/leerands LEE RANDS (mUmU, UK) He never fails to deliver. 2011 has been Lee's biggest year to date. His debut gig at Fabric in April was followed by a second in September. He has continued to be on ever present sublime resident duties for mUmU in Liverpool, London and beyond, along with gigs at Fuse in London and Life festival Ireland to mention just a few. 2012 will see his debut production and his partnership behind the decks with Chris Maran continues to grow. A true standout resident DJ. CARPE DIEM MUSICA (The Evil Amigos) The Evil Amigos established in Liverpool 2008. The guys developed a love for house music, listening to different styles, rhythms and groove laden basslines, they decided to give their passion for music a career. Davy & Wayne had a very early break through on the underground scene. Playing at local events and impressing pundits where ever they played. They were given the opportunity to play at legendary club Sankeys in Manchester England. As they lads built a superb reputation, they then decided to create their own record label; 'Carpe Diem Musica' Signing some of the biggest techno tracks, from some of the most talented producers in the business.
