Due to popular demand, Decibel will be teaming up with the Portland based Alga-Rhythms crew for the second installment of our dB Boat Parties. This two floor event will feature an international lineup of nu-disco, Italo Disco and deep house, including the Seattle debut of the Italian duo Tiger & Woods and Wolf + Lamb Music’s Slow Hands. Wolf + Lamb Music artists Tanner Ross and Deniz Kurtel will be co-headlining, with Northwest selectors The Perfect Cyn, Sappho, Justin Timbreline, Slowpøke DJs and Apolinario Ancheta warming things up for the five hour cruise across Seattle’s beautiful Lake Washington and Lake Union.
Tiger & Woods use both recognizable and exotic sources supplemented with original production to take you to undiscovered terrains that somehow feel like home. One of the main proponents of the current slow-mo and sultry house revolution, Slow Hands aka Ryan Cavanagh is an organic specialist featuring everything from jazz to blues to trippy electronica to inform the New Yorker’s well honed production palette. Tanner Ross’s solo career has been taking off with releases due in early 2011 on !K7, Double Standard, No 19, and Wolf + Lamb. His musical trailblazing is set to continue much further with remixes and a solo album due out on Wolf + Lamb in 2012. An accomplished interactive sculptor, Deniz Kurtel has quickly made a name for herself. Her work has been the centerpiece of countless Wolf + Lamb parties in Brooklyn.
The Perfect Cyn has been a driving force in the Portland techno and minimal scene that emerged in the early and mid 00s, helping found local collective Sexy Robot Music. Fed a steady diet of prog-rock and musical factoids, Sappho is a consummate record collector. Apolinario has developed his musical style through various residencies. DJ Justin Timbreline (aka John Judge) stumbled out of the Northwest punk scene in search of a new form of expression; he found it in electronic music. The Slowpøke crew enjoy the best in house, disco, balearic and whatever else fits the mood.
