Lewie Day aka Tornado Wallace has the best moustache in the world and is returning from London to spin all night long at the next One Night Stand warehouse party! The deep house extraordinaire from down Melbourne way has been dominating the warmer corner of the EDM scene across the galaxy for the past couple of years and continues to blow the minds of even the biggest of wigs.
His two releases last year on supremo UK label Delusions of Grandeur created fans out of legends like Greg Wilson, Mark E, Horse Meat Disco and Eric Duncan, and landed him a spot in Juno's top 50 tracks of 2010. Tornado Never Dies, released on the wonderful Amsterdam edits imprint Sleazy Beats, now sells for close to $100 if you're lucky enough to find a copy up for grabs. He's done wonderful remixes for Cut Copy, Eddie C, Alex Agore and our boys the Loin Brothers. Having made a gorgeous contribution to the first Melbourne Deepcast release, Lewie has just put out a spectacular 12" on Instruments Of Rapture (The Revenge's label) as well as a beauty of a remix for Mike Callander, and it's clear his output is only going to get better.
Mister Wallace is just as brilliant on the DJing front. Disco, house, techno, deep groove and all things soulful have warmed the ears of lucky dancing folk both here and abroad. He holds residencies at some of Melbourne's top clubs - Revolver and One Six One - and co-runs the C Grade parties at the Mercat Basement which involve epic 8 hour sets, so he's no stranger to the long haul. Naturally we're absolutely thrilled to have him come spin for us - this is going to be one of the biggest and best yet!
As usual we're getting our theme on - this time things will be a few shades darker with 'I was a teenage GOTH'. We're looking forward to seeing a mob of angsty kids with pink hair and thick eyeliner grooving away at our amazing warehouse space!
