CLOUDS (Turbo Recordings / Blood Music) : Clouds are 19 and 20 year old Scots Calum Macleod and Liam Robertson. With a sound that dances the razors edge between frenzied banger and non-shameful techno, these prodigious young'uns have garnered huge support from the current heavyweights of electronic music. In early 2010 they released their first EPs on Fake Blood's 'Blood Music' label and Tiga's Turbo Recordings, gaining props and plays from artists such as 2 Many DJs, Proxy, Boys Noize, Brodinski, Miike Snow, Erol Alkan and other hype-making tasters. Already prolific remixers, having hammered out punishing-electro-bastard versions of Underworld, Proxy, The Subs, and most recently ZZT, they are set to pass a cherished milestone in remixography later this year when they demolish the shit out of Moby. Hushed rumours of a side-project that allows them to explore their deep and feminine side are heard by their cult-like fans on the Erol Forum, but drowned out by the hordes calling for their next EP on Turbo, due sometime in 2011. Recent DJ sets have showcased an impressive knowledge of techno and a diverse range of influences, promising signs of an illustrious future DJ career for these talented wee artists. … www.myspace.com/thisisclouds www.soundcloud.com/thisisclouds www.mixedbizness.co.uk/clouds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LftMteUDIhs SCREENDEATH (Southern Friend Records) : Arriving in early 2009 with a set of impressive set of remixes, 19 year old Ryan Thompson’s name began to spread across the internet eventually resulting in early track, “Vitamin Friend” being signed to Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn fire label in late 2009.
