That’s right kids, just when you thought that the festival season had come to an abrupt halt, fear not! The little elves at Snowbombing HQ have been slaving away, to bring you the first of 3 surprise packages. The first part of what is set to be the biggest, best and down right ear orgasmic line-up has been released and have we got a treat in store for you!
First up, Example, the one man lyrical phenomenon has come a long way since rapping about the drunken antics of Lily Allen and is now topping the charts with every dance infused anthem he releases. Returning to the picturesque peaks of Mayrhofen, with more hits than you could shake even the largest of sticks at, Elliot will be guaranteed to pick you up and spit you out in his own lyrical stylee when he takes to the stage in April.
Elliot aka Example says “It’ll be my 3rd year at Snowbombing. The crowd are always amazing and well up for a party. The brilliantly unique venues and surrounding scenery makes for a brilliant vibe. If last year was anything to go by, I can’t wait to get back this year’.
Another mind-boggling act to be announced in this first extravaganza of Snowbombing goodness, is none other than Groove Armadawho like Sting, will be turning on the Redlight. This London duo have produced no fewer than 8 studio albums, four of which have made it into the UK Top 50. The guys have been shaking clubs, bars, uni’s and festivals to the very core, for 15 years now and when they throw in Redlight you know you’re in for something pretty special.
Things are going to get a little grimey in the mountains when reggae-riddled rapper Wretch 32 takes to the stage. We’re also being graced with the utterly unique audio/visual sensation courtesy of DJ Yoda… Let the force be with you!
James Zabiela, the maestro himself, is tearing back into our snowy haven, for a break beat and house infused explosion like no other. Without a doubt one of the stand out performers on the circuit right now, a ‘must have’ at any festival is Mr Jack Beats himself!
And ladies and gentlemen, roll out the red carpet and prepare to wave as Snowbombing 2012 shall be in the presence of royalty! The one and only Norman Jay MBE, will be gracing us with his mix of old 45’s and nu school vibes bringing out Good Times Sound System. The word legend is thrown around too often, but is truly deserved for this man! Phew!
So with the first of our terrific trilogy of musical announcements out of the traps, Snowbombing has begun to assemble a white hot musical soundtrack, which will be built on in two more stages, to form the biggest, boldest and loudest line up on snow, including one of our greatest headline acts ever!
Snowbombing 2012 will witness MORE live bands, MORE DJ's - old and new and some of the most successful household names on the planet… All jam packed into one small yet perfectly formed alpine village, with an avalanche of fancy dress and the unique Snowbombing festival atmosphere thrown in for good measure.

And as if that isn’t enough to create mischief-in-the-mountains, we you can rest assured that the backdrops will blow your mind!... The festival transforms a traditional alpine village into one of the biggest and most colourful party places in Europe, allowing Snowbombers to enjoy hearing their music amidst the mountains, rather than the mud and marquees… With the crown of ‘Best Overseas Festival’, Snowbombing will once again explode to a sublime soundtrack of the world’s best bands and DJ’s…
The hills are indeed alive with the sound of music, the best music, with the best crowd and in the best venues…
The Arctic Disco is an awesome igloo village on a 2000m plateau, accessed by Austria’s biggest cable car. The Backcountry Parties take place in a 200 year old traditional wooden barn, we’ve discovered high in the ‘forgotten valley’ that is only reachable through a tunnel that cuts straight through the middle of a mountain! And if that wasn’t enough, our Street Party is recognised as the biggest fancy dress party in Austria. We reclaim the streets in a riot of random rockafella skankiness, our subterranean sports centre The Racket Club hosts main stage standard live bands up close and very personal.
When a bit of R & R is required, the resort boasts some of Europe’s most lavish spas and due to the nearby Tux Glacier (Austria’s most elevated point) is only a short (free) bus ride away, and although is open all year, is at its best in spring and in one of the latest season’s snow-sure locations.
