  • festivalZOO presents: Project ZOO: LA "Get Wild" Project ZOO: LA was created with one thing in mind - The Music. Yes, we live in a city where it's all about exclusivity, but we think the scene shouldn't be. By putting too many restrictions on a party, it becomes all about "who" instead of the "what" - the what being great music. We are losing sight of what really matters - the music... and that is what brings people together! Project ZOO's goal is to throw a party where everyone is welcome but attitude is not. Where musical boundaries get crossed yet no rules are broken. Where you might show up knowing only a few people yet leave with a bunch of new friends all connected by the beat. Project ZOO is simply somewhere for people to come together and share the love for insanely good house music. In our first Project, we present Subb-an (LIVE) [Culprit, One Records, Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound] who might need little to no introduction as he has been hitting the charts in a real big way! With releases on some of the hottest labels, including local favorits Culprit, Crosstown Rebels and many more. He has also collaborated with some of the best artist in the industry, including Maya Jane Coles, Nic Fanciulli and more. This will be Subb-an's first LA appearance and real treat to music lovers! If you love Art Department, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Droog, Cassy, Claude VonStroke, Craig Richards, Danny Howells, Deniz Kurtel, Lee Burridge, Maya Jane Coles, Soul Clap, Tanner Ross, Three, Voices of Black, and Wolf+Lamb, then there is a good chance you won't want to miss this! festivalZOO will be providing theatrics to keep the night interesting!! ********************************************************************************************************************** ********************************************************************************************************************** Capacity: 250 Medusa Lounge is a proper venue with great sound and dope vibe. This success hasn’t been earned overnight. At just 23 years old, Ashique ‘Subb-an’ Subhan has done much more in his career in dance music than many artists twice his age. In 2005, Subb-an landed a residency at Below, one of the UK’s most cherished underground clubbing institutions. Over the last six years Below has seen the likes of Sven Vath, Loco Dice, Dinky, Jamie Jones and Sebo K headlining sold out parties that continue to draw crowds of clued-clubbers from all over the UK. Subb-an’s discography reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of underground house and techno’s biggest labels with his forthcoming release on Crosstown Rebels, Spectral and Culprit backed up by past hits on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, Mothership, Leftroom, BPitch Control, 2020 Vision, Trapez Ltd. In 2009, Subb-an and Adam Shelton set up their own ‘One Records’ label as a platform for their own productions alongside tracks from other respected artists. Building on his long standing residency at Below, Subb-an has gone on to play at The Weekend Club (Berlin), 2010’s Glastonbury Festival, The Electric Pickle (Miami), The Harry Klein (Munich), Hot Natured at Sonar (Barcelona), The Garden Festival (Croatia), Lo*Kee (London), and at The Warehouse Project (Manchester). With his upcoming releases on Crosstown Rebels, Spectral Sound and 2020 Vision due to land next spring, 2011 should be a defining year in Subb-an’s already hugely promising career.
