Algo Rhythm Pres. Oskar Offermann (White/aim) Berlin, Eric Cloutier (Bunker Ny) [16+hr Event]

  • The long-awaited fourth installment of the Algo Rhythm night is high. You know what to expect if you caught our Marcellus Pittman, Patrick Russell or Sex Tags Norway/FIT Detroit parties: quality-obsessed talent in an intimate venue and an on-point sound system. We plan on continuing this for our next edition. We have a special treat all the way from Berlin. Known mainly as the driving force behind the brilliantly low-profile White and Rimini labels, Oskar Offermann has garnered a much deserved reputation as being not only a producer of note, but a first class DJ working in the deep, deep house mode. A collaboration with Hamburg/Smallville compatriot Moomin yielded the soulful burners "Hardmood" and "The Fog Burns Off" while his own sultry productions inject his love of the old school into long sinewy melodic cuts. His recent Little White Earbuds podcast shows his influences and gives you a good idea as to what you should expect to hear from him in the flesh. We are seriously looking forward to seeing him do his thing in this, his U.S. debut! To welcome our guest properly, we've also procured one of our local favorites of like mind. Eric Cloutier has launched onto the global stage in the past few years with an appearance at Japan's Labyrinth festival. The Bunker resident's run of excellent sets for mnmlssgs, Bleep43 and more recently, Taiwan's Smoke Machine show a serious, studious ethic at work behind all of those grooves. Anyone who's seen Eric lay needle to groove knows that it's an ethic that pays serious dividends on the dancefloor. Staring off the night and playing during the late morning will be your gracious hosts, Sequencias records head honcho JM De Frias and A.Arias. The 23 year old vinyl junkies will be doing that thing that they don't do nearly often enough… playing their favorite jams for like-minded heads. We Believe we have found a perfect home for our parties, a small intimate two floor loft with rooftop + set up a sound system just the right size. We're looking forward to giving our friend Oskar the true nyc underground experience. Take a listen to our recent 1-1/2hr jam session recorded live on WNYU http://wnyu.org/2011-09-23_elektrokardiogramm to get somewhat an idea of where you'll be headed once you walk through the door. We plan on going way beyond 12pm the next day, so get ready :) For info on location please rsvp at [email protected]
