True club poetry manifests itself in a sensitively romanced line-up. A line-up that is like a good whiskey blend, where fine ingredients are delicately seasoned to create a new whole. A whole that isn’t simply the result of adding up its single elements, but is rather supra-summative in its entireness. We’re not talking of harmony here, no, because that would be just the precursor to boredom. We’re describing a highly complex new flavour, one that both caresses your taste-buds and challenges them to transcend their customs and leaves you yearning for more.
For this years festivities Horst Krzbrg invited the Bodywerk! crew to be the distillers and to create the right blend to welcome you into a new year 2012.
Jimmy Edgar
The Time Traveler, with tracks in the quality of Rolex watches. Shiny like immaculate platinum, encaged by the highest precision beats and with no false understatement. As soon as he steps behind his machines or the DJ-dekcs you feel a magical hand, that knows neither time nor genre boundaries: Giorgio Moroder meets UK Bass that does a sexy lapdance on Acid to euphoric fast-house pianos. Not an eclectic puzzle work, but a finely woven concept.
Redshape,
is not only a class on his own, but a whole league. A good friend since the opening of Horst, Redshape gives "deep" an entirely new meaning, one that connotates both “groove” and “damn, that’s hot”.
Blawan / Pangaea
the Hessle Audio family is already part of the inventory of Horst Krzbrg. During his last visit with the extended family of Hessle Audio, Pangaea played a historical set, which did in fact contain the really important and yet unknown records of the last 15 years. We still remember standing on the edge of the dancefloor, shaking our heads in unbelief. His buddy Blawan has been on the wishlist for quite some time and he will be completing our collection of young British citizens who act like Brazilian soccer stars: Where others plow through the grass, they prance and show off delightful pieces of art.
Tri Angle
... is Robin Carolan, who runs the eponymous label Tri Angle Records, which was named by Billboard Magazine the most important indie label in the world. We can’t agree more, because Tri Angle gathered up the most outstanding music of the whole year, including our favorites Ayshay, Balam Acab or Holy Other. Yes, it certainly has a melancholic undertone to it, but you can dance quite well with a tear in your eye, too. And don’t forget, that the world is supposed to go under in 2012 anyway.
Greco Roman Soundsystem
Moving on the axis London-Berlin, the collective is one part label, one part party and two parts awesome. We already quiver in excitement, only thinking of their set on NYE, which will be the right soundtrack for having a glass of champagne in the left hand. While pointing with a gunfinger at the ceiling and demand a rewind.
Boiler Room: Charles Drakeford & Dark'n'Lovely
Do we really have to say anything about Boiler Room? That it’s the hottest format for music from the underground world wide? Its Cinéma Vérité at its best: We observe the observers, observing. Only that the observed are the best DJ and producers in the world. Charles and Dark ‘n Lovely are responsible for all of this in London and damn good djs on their own. So good, that it actually wouldn’t need this armada of names every week to entertain all of us properly.
Anxst
The Bodywerk! residents will be too busy this year beheading champagne bottles and starting booty pop circle pits, so they invited their buddy Anxst from Brighton to take over for them. He has a pretty good idea of what's happening on both sides of the continent between Techno and Juke and is going to test out what the Berlin understanding of Last Man Standing really is.

Wahre Clubpoesie entäußert sich über ein sensibel gedichtetes Line Up.
Der eine bevorzugt den autochthonen Ansatz, der andere schmiedet in Technofeuer massive Line Ups zusammen.
Horst Krzbrg bevorzugt die Methode des Whisky-Blends: Edle Hochprozenter werden vom Blendmaster nach einer nur ihm bekannten Rezeptur zu etwas ganz einmaligem kombiniert. Gerade zum Jahresabschluss ist ein Blend gefragt, der Resumee und Ausblick gleichermaßen ist. Blend Master ist die Bodywerk-Crew, Horst ist das passende Gefäß dazu.
Die einzelnen Zutaten des Silvester-Line-Ups mischen sich auf Augenhöhe. Da gibt es keinen alles dominierenden Einfluss, sondern ein neues Ganzes, das die individuelle Leistung des Einzelnen nicht subsumiert, sondern - ohne Harmonie vorzugaukeln, die die Vorstufe zur Langeweile ist - eine Ensemblenote des guten Geschmacks sein wird.
Jimmy Edgar,
zu Recht auch als der Zeitreisende tituliert, produziert Tracks in der Güte von Rolex-Uhren. Makelloses Platin, höchste Präzisionsbeats, kein falsches Understatement. Im Gegensatz zu vielen seiner Kollegen ist Jimmy Edgar nicht nur als Produzent, sondern auch als DJ im gleichen Segment beheimatet: Man spürt eine magische Hand, die weder Zeit- noch Gengregrenzen kennt: Ein gefühlter Giorgio Moroder trifft UK Bass, der trifft auf Acid-Kracher und die auf euphorisierte schnelle House-Pianos. Keine eklektische Puzzlearbeit, sondern fein verwobenes Konzept.
Redshape,
nicht nur eine Klasse für sich, sondern auch eine eigene Liga. Schon seit der Eröffnung von Horst Krzbrg ein guter Freund des Hauses. Redshape gibt der Bedeutung des Wortes "deep" immer wieder eine völlig neue Bedeutung. Deep hat bei Redshape Groove, heißt nicht starker Tobak, sondern ist so heiß wie Wüstenwind.
Blawan / Pangaea
Die Hessle-Audio-Familie gehört zum Stamminventar von Horst Krzbrg. Bei seinem letzten Besuch mit der Großfamilie von Hessle Audio spielte Pangaea ein historisch angehauchtes Set, in dem tatsächlich die wirklich wichtigen und nicht bejubelten Platten der letzten 15 Jahre enthalten waren. Noch heute sieht sich Horst Krzbrg kopfschüttelnd am Rande der Tanzfläche stehen. Unfassbar! Blawan hatten wir hier schon seit langer Zeit auf dem Wunschzettel. Er komplettiert unsere Sammlung an jungen britischen Staatsbürgern, die agieren wir brasilianische Fußballstars: Wo sich andere durch den Rasen ackern, da tänzeln sie und führen höchstindividuelle Kunststücke vor.
Tri Angle

Ganz abgesehen davon interessiert uns Robin Carolands unglaubliches Geschick, die wirklich herausragende Musik dieser Zeit innerhalb eines Jahres auf seinem jungen Label zu versammeln. Tri Angle klingt enorm vielversprechend. Ayshay zum Beispiel a.k.a. Fatima Al Qadiri, Balam Acab oder Holy Other. Hat durchaus eine gewisse melancholische Schwere, aber man kann auch mit einer Träne im Augenwinkel gut tanzen. Außerdem soll 2012 die Welt eh untergehen.
Greco Roman Soundsystem
Das Londonberliner Zwitterwesen Greco-Roman spielt, verlabelt oder veranstaltet nach ganz eklektischen Maßstäben das, was Greco Roman für gut befindet. Und das ist so gut, dass wir aus dem Staunen und Kopfnicken kaum rauskommen, denn bei ihren Parties reichen sich Azari & III, Gold Panda und James Blake die Klinke in die Hand. Der perfekte Sound um Champagner in der linken Hand zu halten und mit einer Gunfinger-Geste der rechten einen Rewind einzufordern.
Boilerroom: Charles Drakeford & Dark'n'Lovely
Boilerroom hält, was Boilerroom verspricht: Mitterweile hören 300.000 Menschen rund um den Globus das an Einfachheit unübertroffene Set Up des Internet-TV-Senders Boilerroom. Cinéma Vérité vom feinsten: Die Halbtotale starrt auf ein Dj-Pult, an dem Künstler beim Ackern zu beobachten sind. Im Hintergrund eine Schar geladener Gäste. Das wirklich Beste vom Besten an DJs in einen muffigen Heizungskeller - Chapeau!
Anxst
Die Bodywerk-Residents aus Berlin werden dieses Jahr zu beschäftigt sein, um Champagnerflaschen zu köpfen und Booty Pop Circle Pits auf dem Dancefloor zu starten, also haben sie ihren Buddy Anxst aus Brighton eingeladen für sie das Plattenruder zu übernehmen. Der hat einen ziemlich guten Überblick darüber, was diesseits und jenseits des Kontinents zwischen Techno und Juke House passiert und wird austesten, was Last Man Standing in dieser Stadt wirklich bedeutet.
