Following the success of last year¹s New Years Day Warehouse event at Sun
Studios, Funkdafied and Dig Deep are bringing it back to you for NYD 2012,
with over five areas of quality House, live Funk & Soul, Old School Hip-Hop
and Nu Disco.
If you partied with us last NYD you¹ll have an idea of what to expect this
time around. Catering for a discerning crowd who appreciate good music, this
promises to be one of the best events Sydney has seen in a long time.
This year we are proud to introduce an act that has been on top of their
game for over a decade. Crazy P (a.k.a. Crazy Penis) will be gracing our
shores with their full live 5-piece band. Also on the line up will be DJ
Maestro (Netherlands), who recently toured Australia and performed at the
sold out Blue Note Trip event at the Basement in Sydney. Katalyst will also
be performing on the day with special guests as part of his sound system.
With of the best live dance music shows on the planet, Crazy P have been
leaving their mark on the landscape of British dance music for the last 15
years. Equally at home on huge outdoor festival stages in Australia or
basement sweatboxes in East London, Crazy P have made their name with a
unerring combination of lushly structured songs and live power, whilst never
forgetting their roots on the dance floors of the late 90s' house, disco,
and soul clubs.
DJ Maestro has an insatiable hunger for Funk, Jazz and Latin albums. His
Blue Note Trip-nights continually attract dance lovers, who love to work up
a sweat on the amazing mix of modern and vintage beats from the Maestro¹s
record cases. Throughout his career he has carried those records to perform
in Asia, the USA, Europe and our very own Australia. Maestro has been
awarded with a platinum record for his Blue Note Trip series for sales
exceeding 250,000 copies.
Joining Crazy P, DJ Maestro & Katalyst will be over 40 acts, across several
indoor and outdoor stages. We¹ll be bringing you the very best in sound and
lighting production and we still have more surprises in store for the big
event. We¹ll be kicking the doors open at 3pm as we know you¹ll be ready to
get involved early on.
