  • "A SONIC PHENOMENON YOU HAVE TO SEE AND HEAR TO BELIEVE...THEY'RE A BAND TO WATCH IN 2011" The Guardian They are the singing secret that the stars have kept to themselves, the vocal group with a word-of-mouth reputation for spicing up the parties of supermodels, heads of state and billionaires with their blend of razor-sharp harmonies and jaw dropping beatboxing. But now, after selling out London's legendary Roundhouse, a series of electrifying festival appearances and a starring roles in the T-Mobile Welcome Home advert and Comic Relief, The Magnets are emerging as one of the must see acts on the current British music scene. At the heart of The Magnets music lies a gift for extraordinary arrangements that radically restyle and subvert songs from artists as diverse as Kraftwerk and Beyonce. Highlights include a sun soaked lounge version of Blurs Girls & Boys', a stomping mash up of 'Rolling in the Deep' by Adele and Stevie Wonders 'Another Star and the bands trademark mega-medleys, currently a showstopping A - Z of movie themes from A-Team to Zulu. In concert, The Magnets marry musical sophistication with showmanship in a performance full of imaginative choreography, engaging humour and plenty of audience participation. The Magnets are now centre-stage in the current revival in vocal harmony music, seen everywhere from Glee to The Choir, having paid their dues as street performers in London's Covent Garden and near continuous international touring from Singapore to the Cayman Islands. They have enjoyed a colourful history, including two major record deals and support tours with Tom Jones, Blondie and Michael Ball. Most recently The Magnets have been seen and heard on BBC2s Review Show, ITV1s Magic Numbers, BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 1, 2 and 5Live. The band are proud to support the Sing Up! Programe encouraging singing in schools, and to perform at frequent charitable engagements.
