NYC label Deconstruct and local upstarts Algo Rhythm are joining forces to start 2012 off right with the return of hometown vet and birthday boy Anthony Parasole and Minnesota’s favorite son and one of the world’s most respected Techno DJ/Producers… DVS1, with one of his extended, white hot sets. Setting the tone will be JM de Frias, Sequencias records label head, and A.Arias as we celebrate Anthony Parasole’s BIRTHDAY. This is the 6th installment of Anthony’s BOUNDLESS series which has brought MOVE D, FRED P aka BLACK JAZZ CONSORTIUM, PATRICE SCOTT, and JOEY ANDERSON to NYC. Zak Khutoretsky aka DVS1 is a DJ from Minnesota whose meteoric rise from Midwestern local favorite to global Techno juggernaut has been guided by a firm hand in the Twin Cities Techno scene, almost dating back to Woody McBride’s founding days. His Hush Sound organization, which has only just now made the jump to record label, has been instrumental in cultivating and maintaining the longstanding bond that holds the Twin Cities and the Motor City together as bastions of Techno in the isolated Midwest. It’s only recently that the word has spread far and wide, and after releases on Klockworks and Transmat, amongst other sought after labels, and a recent remix for Techno pop founders Vince Clark and Martin Gore, DVS1 has found himself suddenly and deservedly thrust into the limelight. Since he has graced the decks at many of the world’s best parties with some of the most blistering DJ sets around. We have to say we definitely think he’s completely worthy of the honor, and we’re proud to have him. If you haven’t seen Zak do his thing before just prepare yourself for a bracing shot of pure Techno delivered DEEP with equal parts grace and aggression. Where he goes, sweat follows.
Anthony Parasole should need no introduction to newer or longer-standing denizens of the New York Deep House and Techno scenes. A longtime employee of halcyon, friend of Levon Vincent (his partner in Deconstruct Music, and a prominent figure in underground house and Techno circles), Anthony’s old school cred and acute selections won our ears right away, and he hasn’t let go since. Known for the deepest sounds of Techno and House and for gracing multiple dancefloors home and abroad from SHELTER to BERGHAIN, Anthony is primed for a breakout year in 2012 with productions in the pipeline as well as a new imprint ready to launch in the first quarter. So come hear him lay down a serious set and buy him a BREW for his birthday :)
JM de Frias is the Sequencias records label head. The 2 releases on the new imprint have been charted far and wide and have people talking about this young’n with the hot label on the rise. Along with partner A.Arias they will be setting the evening off proper with an all vinyl set and will be giving you a nice breath of House and Techno from their ever-growing archives. Both De Frias and A. Arias are playing around New York more than ever, so we’re confident that things are on the way up, as witnessed by the prestigious guests Algo Rhythm have been attracting lately. The heat may be rising but the rules stay the same: All Vinyl, All Night Long, Deep Underground Techno and House, and we don’t stop till way past the sun comes up… the night is Boundless.
