The Future Classic Night at Keystone Festival Bar for Sydney Festival 2012, will be the home to two of Europe's most creative, party stomping and diverse DJs around today - DJ Koze of Germany and Prins Thomas of Norway.
DJ Koze is known for his eclectic taste, as a DJ, producer and record label owner and what his eccentric tone brings to electronic music. Since rising from Germany's hip hop scene in the mid 90's Koze's turntablism skills from years of hip-hop have shredded the techno/house DJ formula into bits, his remixes of Matthew Dear, Matias Aguayo, Battles, Who Made Who and Gonzales are all classics in many DJ's record bags, and his record label Pampa is home to the melodic minimalist Robag Wruhme, the drunk house sounds of Axel Boman, revered German gentleman Isolée and Koze's very own tough house joints.
Backing up Koze will be Norway's Prins Thomas, another DJ, producer, record label honcho but in a different field - a man often reluctant to describe the sound of his DJ sets - but perhaps described as a mélange of disco, house, minimal techno, electro, Krautrock, jazz fusion and space rock. Thomas is one of the most in demand remixers in electronic music today with glorious reworkings of big hitters such as LCD Soundsystem, Chemical Brothers, Doves & DJ Harvey under his belt to name just a few. Prins Thomas' own label Full Pupp (which translates in English to 'Big Tits') has some of the best house-not-house, neo-disco or call-it-what-you-want dance music records out there, all made by exclusive Norwegian talent including his neighbours Lindstrom and Todd Terje.
Both Koze and Thomas will be playing 3 hour sets each!
European clubbing in the middle of an Australian summer at Sydney's Hyde Park Barracks - sounds like a pretty fun night to us.
