This February ladies and gents we welcome two of modern house music's finest for a night that is to be filled with the blissful sounds of the originators. Expect touches of Detroit, Chicago, New Jersey, Berlin and beyond…
To kick things off, we welcome one of the biggest success stories in house music over the past few years; the prodigal Danilo Plessow, also known as Motor City Drum Ensemble.
From Cologne, Germany, Danilo is famed most notably for some of his earlier productions. The “Raw Cuts” series, on his own MCDE imprint, were a 100% sampled masterclass: Danillo expertly undressing the sounds of everything from disco roots and gospel, to blues, mo-town and good old Detroit house. It is fair to say Danilo exploded as the world watched his mature house masterpieces expeditiously find themselves into all the right record bags, at all the right parties, at all the right times, making him a household name, and one of the most exciting young DJs to watch at the current time. This year alone Danilo recorded a Dj Kicks album, which featured the massive melancholy underground hit L.O.V.E, and also performed a standout set on Boilerroon just a few weeks back.
We’re also delighted to give a warm welcome back to one of our stellar performers of 2011; New York's powerhouse, Fred P. Fred first sprung to our attention back in 2010 when we witnessed him tear the lid clean off Panorama Bar with the tightest layers of hypnotic soulful tones, lulling the audience into a mesmerised march for an unforgettable six hours, which left us truly spellbound. Since then, he has come on leaps and bounds with notable releases on Esperanza and Mule Electronic, not to mention his tough escapades under moniker Black Jazz Consortium on Deep Explorer, and of course his rock solid Louche podcast. One of our standout DJ's from 2011.
With MCDE and Fred P spinning for the evening you can be sure things are gonna get deep, raw, and be filled with analogue warmth. We suggest picking your spot on the dance-floor early and getting locked in for what will be a masterclass of all things house.
