  • Italian Jack -Funk!! Cricco Castelli started DJing in 1983 in Rome, Italy. DJing was Cricco's first love, and it wasn't until the end of 1990 that Cricco started producing his own material. In '91 he started his own label 'Romentertainment Records' on which he released his early productions. In '96 Cricco wrote 'Life is Changing' (Kult Records) which without doubt was the turning point in his career. This track was massive and received acclaim on a global level resulting in Cricco moving his studio to London. The track itself stands as a pinnacle moment of his discography, with it's high tinged piano stabs, and rough boy beats, it set the tone for things to come. It wasn't long before Cricco's talents behind the decks were spotted and he was soon playing the London circuit, at clubs such as The End, The Cross, Heaven, Mass etc. This quickly led to him playing at the big clubs in the UK, including Back to Basics - Leeds, Cream - Liverpool, The Unity - Sheffield etc. In '98, Cricco was taken on by Cream Management resulting in him playing in Ibiza at clubs such as Manumission, Amnesia, Café del Mar, Café Mambo, Bar M, and Café Savanna. He has also played at clubs all over the world including Liquid in Miami, Piper 80, Acropolis, Kripton, Paradise, Kings, Red Zone, Ciak, Studio 9, Divina, Paradise, Sir Harris to name a few. He then came forth with "Investigations in the City" hosted by LARGE records. Those familiar with this prominent label know of their good reputation and roster of top notch deep house players. Past high rolers include Kerri Chandler, and Mateo & Matos. Now add Crico Castelli and his tools of trade. The driving force behind the SI Project and an exceptional deejay, Cricco Castelli has another musical surprise for us! This double CD pack consists of a dancefloor workout CD and an afterhours tunes mix. Cricco rides the very difficult sharp line of dancefloor tracks and soulfull funky music and he is doing it in a succesfull way. He is a true master in selecting tracks with enough drive to make your body sweating out on a dancefloor and enough soul and jazz to keep your mind happy as well. It goes without saying here are high drive pumping beats. On the production side, Cricco has released over 50 records. His most notable productions include 'Life is Changing' (Kult) 'A day in Copacabana' (Junior Boys Own), 'Thank God it's Funky' L.P. (SI Project) and 'Life is Changing Again' (Kult US) and 2000's Sunkids featuring Chance "Rise Up!" on Tony Humphries' label Yellorange. He has also had his remixing duties cut out, with over 20 remixes to date including remixes for Junior Boys Own, MN2S Recordings, Catch 22 (Disciples label) Cricco is always working on an album project, but still manages to find the time to play regularly across Europe. He is one of the most sought after DJ's, possessing the ability to work the crowd with his magical funky underground sets, and technical skills second to none. Cricco tries to combine dancefloor tracks and soulfull funky music, adding Latino elements to the fat beat. Cricco Castelli usually produces a wide range of music which appeals to different crowds. Watch this man fly!
