- +++ Garden Party Launches for 2012 Season +++ +++ 14 hour event +++ +++ DJ Sneak, Huxley, Ben UFO, BNJMN, Mono_cult, Afrocoalition v Nest +++ :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: So here it is! The much anticipated Garden Party launch, apparently the Queen is having a bit of a birthday kind of bash and there’s some kind of sports competition on but we know that this is what you’ve really been looking forward to 2012 for. Leeds’ biggest and most consistent bank holiday event kicks off a new season off the back of our fastest selling year in 2011 and before we’d even announced a third of the tickets had already gone, so here’s who’ll be providing the sounds for our launch party... Heading up proceedings the mighty DJ SNEAK, Chicago’s big man makes the trip over the atlantic to remind us all why there’s few most influential figures in the world when it comes to house music. With name checks in tracks from the likes of Daft Punk whilst still managing to remain an underground figurehead for over 20 years and having just released his Fabric mix, you know that there’s many reasons that SNEAK’s the man for this job! Next up we look to a fresh UK talent who’s currently making massive waves with his take on all things house – huge releases for Hypercolour, Cecille, Tsuba and his very own Saints and Sonnets have made HUXLEY somewhat of a fast rising star! We know it’s hard to believe but that’s only half of our headliners for the day…we are also delighted to welcome BEN UFO to the Garden Party. As the head of Hessle Audio alongside Pangaea and Pearson Sound, Ben has been responsible for shaping the modern landscape of club sounds. One of the most pure DJs on the circuit today, having built his name without yet releasing any productions, choosing to focus on DJing ‘as an art form’. Ben is supported by another UK talent, we see BNJMN make his Leeds debut – quite surprising given that he’s been a key artist for Holland’s hugely influential RUSH HOUR and 2011 saw his album Black Square make Resident Advisor’s top 20 albums of the year!
