Queertopia features JD Samson & MEN, a Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective led by LE TIGRE’s JD Samson. Their music speaks of issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and the demand for liberties through lyrical content and an inventive, high-energy stage show. DJ Sprinkles aka Terre Thaemlitz, a pioneer of queer politics in dance music, Sprinkles is unconcerned with mass appeal, and focuses on sniper-sets aimed at a long gone generation of angry and depressed queer HIV/AIDS activists unafraid to cry on the dancefloor. Denver’s LGBTQ community leaders Narky Stares & Piper Rose host the evening.
