JAY KAUFMAN www.jaykaufman.ca www.soundcloud.com/jaykaufman When it comes to electronic music Jay has lived it for most of his life. Buying records before paying rent and staying up two days in a row to finish that essential tune havent been that uncommon. Jay's bio spans 20+ years of DJing and producing. In 2001, Jay signed to UK-based progressive house label, Sonambulist Recordings. His first release came out early October of 2001 entitled The Fear. The Fear saw play from top DJs Anthony Pappa, Danny Howells, Nick Warren, Graham Gold, and many other A–list DJs. Jay’s other tracks have drawn praise from many of the same names that supported The Fear. More recent releases have seen Jay’s singing debut on Fade To Black; which was given a full vinyl release on Canadian label Fullbodysoundsystem. Tracks like Cut To The Chase saw a license to a compilation and his recent remix of DJ 19 has appeared as the backing music on a DVD in Japan. He has also released several digital-only tracks through L2 Music in Germany. Several of his tracks have featured in the feature film ‘Rolling’. Future releases from Tortoise Shell Recordings and Australia’s Bellarine Recordings are imminent. Feelgood www.facebook.com/deejayfeelgood www.soundcloud.com/aarondjfeelgood. Feelgood discovered house and techno while pulling overnight shifts through high school in the early 2000's. Tuning into live to air's from Toronto and Hamilton, the steady hypnotic beat and the finer nuances of local Toronto DJ's helped him get through the early mornings. It was different than any of the commercialized music heard on other stations. Soon afterwards, he began using his university roommate's CDJ's to practice and learn the skills of the trade. With time and practice came gigs and opportunities. Steady techno/ house rhythms infused with some progressive are Feelgood's flavors. He aspires to create sets that are designed to takethe listener through a musical journey that will reveal new sounds and explore the depths of his creativity. The mentality that the DJ should be a participant with the crowd, and not distanced from it by being placed on a podium/stage is one that he holds closely. It's with this ideology that Feelgood tends to shy away from the commercial side of things preferring to stick to the much more intimate roots of the rave scene.
