  • WORLDTRONICS is an annual event that takes place at House over five days in late November/early December. The festival documents the latest developments in electronic music outside the famous centres of musical genres such as London, Detroit and Berlin. Each day of the festival is devoted to a single country or hotspot. Power of selection rests in the hands of curators with a special connection to the respective region. In December 2007 the programme will feature electronic music from Congo, Japan, Jerusalem and Santiago de Chile. Music from Kinshasa, Congo will be presented by Marc Hollander and Vincent Kenis, who operate the Brussels label Crammed Disc and put out the series "Congotronics". Cologne musician Wechsel Garland, a long-time collaborator with Japanese musicians, will select the music from that country. Jerusalem will be curated by Ronni Shendar and Till Rohmann, organisers of the annual electronic festival "c.sides" there. Authors Eva-Christina Meier and Andreas Fanizadeh, who have published books including Chile International – Kunst, Existenz, Multitude, are responsible for music from Santiago. The music will be accompanied in the House's foyer by a small tradeshow at which participating musicians, labels, club operators, software and hardware producers and others active in the scene can meet each other and exchange goods, music, information and ideas.
