It’s been two years since Red Shield Club opened its doors to the public. While Red Shield Records was launched and has been hosting events since November 2008, it was not until Feb 2010 that their first venue was opened. Since then we have seen the evolution from a small pub holding around 60 people, then expanding to hold 150 with constantly developing décor, art and musical concepts, into a 2 floor large warehouse with bigger and badder sound.
In those two years we have managed to change the landscape of San Juan in a drastic way bringing the freshest and most forward thinking events before anyone. The impressive roster of guests in the electronic genre boosts the who’s who of the internacional music scene.
From Techno, House, Disco to Dubstep, Bass and everything future, the guest over the past 2 years include Inside Out(Clink, NYC), John Arnold(Ubiquity, Detroit),Simbad(Raw Fusion, UK),Dave Gee (Dark Room, NYC), Nicodemus(ESL, NYC), Geko Jones(Dutty Artz, NYC),Dinky(Cocoon, Chile), Titonton Duvante(Palette, Columbus), Rob Sparx(UK), Gemmy(Planet Mu, Bristol), Dj Koze(Pampa, Germany), Appleblim(Applepips, Bristol), Dj Sneak(Magnetic, Chicago), Sergio Santos(Dirty Bird, Boston), Talk(Atlanta), Soul Clap(Wolf and Lamb, Boston), Lee Foss(Hot Creations, LA), Jamie Jones(Hot Creations, London, 2562(Tectonic, Netherlands), Matthias Tanzmann(Moon Harbour, Germany), Martyn(Brainfeeder, Netherlands), Bulletproof(New Zealand), among many of the best local dj’s and bands from every genre and their contemporaries from abroad.
2012 Red Shield is coming with the same relentless schedule of promoting quality music forward with bigger and better offerings. So lets celebrate the anniversary of one of the main music hubs of the island and its continued evolution.
