Aril Brikha - Bio
With his first releases In 1998 Aril Brikha reacquainted the world with deep techno soul, as his record Groove La Chord crossed generic boundaries. Is it techno? Is it house? Is it deep house? It’s everything and nothing. Groove La Chord is simply timeless, even though Aril had originally presented it on his demo as a potential B-side. Two years after he recorded Groove La Chord, Brikha heard it in a club for the first time played by none other than the seminal Derrick May.
Since forging an alliance with Fragile/Transmat, Brikha has toured the world solidly with his live show, playing everywhere from inaugral DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival) and numerous prominent clubs such as London's Fabric, Tokyo's Air and Yellow.
Aril re-emerged from a production hiatus with a few select releases on some of Europe's most forward thinking electronics labels, Kompakt, Music Man, Poker Flat, Conaisseur, including remixes for Octave One, Deetron, & Kollektiv Turmstrasse.
Brikha set up his own label Art Of Vengeance in 2010, the first release was in the form of the 10 year anniversary of the first album that came out on Transmat, “Deeparture In Timeâ€. The Album has been revisited in collaboration with Jasper Dahlback who has remastered all the tracks. During the digging in old DAT-tapes, early and unreleased tracks were found. These tracks are put on an additional CD with other rare tracks that came out as B-sides or on the US version of Deeparture In Time.
Aril’s deeparture can also been seen as a lifelong journey down the path of creating a reputation for evolving his music on the forefront of expansive techno…. Brikha has always created cerebral, emotional and spiritual electronic music, whilst the rest of the world may have demanded otherwise Aril has stuck true to himself & his music.
