After the huge success of our first event at Highlight, Gunwharf Quays on Boxing Day we are back for the next in our series of Bank Holiday big ones and we welcome three of the scene’s top players to ensure things go off with a bang. MANUEL DE LA MARE, OLIVER LANG and JUSTIN MARTIN all take to the decks for the Love Amplified Easter Sunday Session, joined by the absolute cream of local talent.
Manuel De La Mare has enjoyed huge success over the past few years as both an internationally renowned touring Dj and producer and label boss at 303lovers and Hotfingers. His impressive collection of originals and remixes is testament to his skill, with releases on the scenes biggest labels such as Universal, Toolroom, Ministry of Sound, Tiger Records, Spinnin, Definitive and Stealth. It’s his individual infusion of house and techno sounds that make his sets so in demand and acclaimed in all corners of the globe and we’re very excited to have him headlining the Main Room on Easter Sunday.
Intensifying the Main Room line-up is Ibiza legend and Amplified favourite, Oliver Lang. With two appearances for Amplified in 2010 and residencies at Sankys, Manchester and Bora Bora, Ibiza, added to a host of house and techhouse releases on labels such as Toolroom and 303lovers, it’s clear why Oliver is another talent hailed by so many and a perfect addition to the night. Completing the bill in the Main Room are Amplified Residents Javier Solis, Sam Bylett and The Business Partners.
JUSTIN MARTIN tops the line-up in Bar Risa, as Portsmouth’s premier student night ‘Concrete Music’ hosts Room 2. For the last couple of years Concrete has been packing out The Registry on a weekly basis bringing some of the UK’s best talent to the city. Last month Eats Everything absolutely smashed their event making Justin Martin the perfect guest for them at Highlight this Easter. Since 2003, American born Justin has been releasing quality house and techno regularly on labels such as Buzzin Fly and Poker Flak and has been a key player in Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird imprint. His deep vibes and heavy basslines regularly tear the roof off of clubs worldwide and he’s set to do the same for us, joining Kingsin, Doox and Concrete Dj’s.
Amplified’s alter-ego ‘Rendezvous’ sets up in the Terrace with PunchFunk’s Chris Vaux and Elvissa Soul and Indigo’s Darren D joining Stu Bryan, Craig Abbott and Luke Dodd in providing the best underground house, disco and techno.
With three specially installed Sound Systems and stellar line-ups, as well as a waterfront BBQ and ‘2-for-1’ drinks from 18:00 – 22:00, Bank Holiday Sunday’s in Portsmouth are set never to be the same again… Love Amplified is here!
