After the overwhelming success that was SBTRKT's live show, we are very pleased to be welcoming him back to the turntables. From a collection of original music and collaborations to a slew of talked about remixes, SBTRKT’s rise to notoriety has been ever-so-slightly meteoric. He's carved out his own path into an ever-evolving dance scene with a new sound, blurring the lines between garage, electro, house, 2-step, new wave and indie.
From one innovative producer to another, co-founder of Eglo Records Floating Points will be taking to the ones and twos for a set which, as ever, promises to be both experimental and eclectic. Widely supported by British radio DJs, Sam Shepherd is hailed as one of the finest producers the country has to offer, with each production showcasing his ability to intertwine the sounds of soul, gospel, blues, jazz, dub and house to create anthemic arrangements of aural beauty.
Objekt seemed to appear out of nowhere in 2011 with his debut EP "The Goose That Got Away". The German producer brought to the table a stunning piece of dubstep throwback infused with Hessle Audio-esque impulses and variations, but the excitement generated from this prolific young producer didn't stop there. The release of "Cactus" sent waves throughout the bass music scene, receiving 4.5/5 on RA's single reviews and confirming that he still had so much more to offer. Alongside this, he was branded by the Boiler Room as their DJ Star of 2012 due to his ability to subtly bridge the sounds coming from both Berlin and London. We are very pleased to present him as our final offering for Room One and also as the platform for the producers' debut set in Leeds.
Heading up things in Room Two is the DJ that gets the girls dancing, Melé. Not only is his unpredictable track selection one to truly be admired, with his ability to incorporate popular party tracks alongside cutting edge, forward-thinking productions second to none, it also has to be noted how beyond his 19 years his mixing ability is - it's clear the young producer has spent hours and hours perfecting his skills to a level where any two tracks can appear seamless. A Bigger than Barry favourite, we are pleased to be welcoming him back!
